Thank you for this wonderful message. And thank you for hanging around all these years. Some part of me worries that I'm not doing "legitimate writing," or that I'm wasting time because this isn't work I can professionally publish and sell, but I have so much fun here. I love sharing my little story ideas and goofy head canons with all of you. It's a joy that's hard to put into words. I've gotten to know some of the most awesome people in my life through fan fic for a theme park ride. Maybe it's cringe, but cringe is as dead as all the characters here.

First time posting for @ocmonthly, hi! For the fish themed oc prompt I’m bringing my final fantasy crystal chronicles oc Mo ifa and her blue chocobo Myrr.

Bit of an old headcanon I had for the selkies, but Mo Ifa can turn into a sahagin in certain conditions, like being in the monster miasma without her compact crystal/if the crystals water runs out. Heres art of her fish mode too

Mostly rational as a monster, but easy to frighten or get an aggressive frenzy..

Sorry that happened to you at the show :( tbh I’ve been seeing a little heckling every time I’ve gone so far, usually people being pedantic about the theme. The cat cafe mode has been a lot of fun though!

thank you :( I’m feeling better about it now but man. It really ruined my mood. The person who said it had been taking potshots at basically everyone the entire time, so it wasn’t like they singled me out or anything, but it was still disheartening! Like, man. Sorry I only have 6 transmutation charges to my name and I’m on a human for the “Dawn in the Grove” theme. what do u want me to do, waste my charges on slapping the nightmare court outfit on my character? nah bro I’m using the spring promenade outfit lmao

Here's a bit from the novelthing, shortly after Richard's first meeting with Anne:

The whole thing is terribly unromantic, but then, Anne had a cold when he met her, and it doesn’t seem to have adversely affected his inability to get her face out of his mind. He writes to her, over Christmas, when he isn’t coughing, trying not to cough during the Christmas festivities, drinking hot spiced wine, or tossing about in bed in a fruitless search for a position that relieves the general achiness.

(P.S. He caught Anne's cold from smooching because of course he did)

Pear: So there's this habit in official, licensed Disney approved products of making the ghosts helpless background characters in what should be their story. I'm more forgiving of this in the video game because A: Nostalgia, II) Zeke is at least a character from the ride, and Tres- Madame Leota is with you the whole time and a lot of the ghosts are helpful. The book The Haunted Mansion: Storm and Shade is the worst offender of this, where the ghosts decide to literally not do anything except dance in the ballroom when they're threatened by a supernatural force they don't think they can fight. I get the use of a mortal protagonist as a stand-in for the reader, or thinking a modern audience wants a modern character to connect to, but at least let these characters be characters, instead of transparent furniture.

So because of this, I like giving the ghosts some fun antagonists from time to time. Usually, it's the One Eyed Black Cat from the old scripts and concept art. I may also fling some of my own creations at them, like Skaggz the grim reaper, who is friend or foe, depending on the day. Or the malicious, wraith-like Undertakers, a band of inky shadow men who work for a yet unnamed boss who feeds on spirits' anguish and rage. The nastiest of the villains is Dr. Dearnons, the head physician at the Acropolis Asylum, where Beau was forced to undergo treatment as a teen. Along with him are undead nurses and orderlies who, in life, had gone along with his abuse and reveled in it. His evil has taken him past mere ghost, and he's more of a demon in shape.

I just can't see how a crew of nearly a thousand, which includes witches, psychics, shape shifters, gun nuts, hatchet wielding serial killers, and a massive home that warps reality, would give up so easily, or be so helpless.

Peach: connection between your favorite character and another work

When working with the idea that this takes place in the theme parks, I love giving the ghosts friends from Disney attractions. I headcanon that Beau has a great friendship with Ariel in particular, and is a trusted confidant to Cinderella. Dorian and Rapunzel hang out on a regular basis. Figment is also a close buddy to the ghosts. There's a friendly rivalry with the pirates that's like an immature turf war. And everyone stays away from the small world dolls. Their sun god may or may not eat souls.

I've wanted to write crossovers with The Princess and the Frog and Atlantis: The Lost Empire. I just never seen to get beyond the initial idea. A mutual had once suggested young Tiana and Charlotte coming across the house one Halloween, and that's such an adorable idea, and I never get beyond a paragraph with it. With the Atlantis idea, it was just this thought that Dorian contacted Milo about information on Atlantis. This would be days before he's found by Helga and Whitmore. Dorian, who is growing older and fearful of aging, is almost frantic about pursuing the Heart as a way to achieve immortality. The house and the meeting freaks Milo out, and he very wisely skeedaddles.

I've rarely shown Dorian's work as an attorney when he was alive, but I've always had this joke in the back of my mind that his legal clerk is Bartleby the Scrivener from the same named short story by Herman Melville. Dorian losing his mind over an employee constantly replying, "I would prefer not to," at every request is just really funny to me. Bartleby is a mood.

Oh, and an Incredible Hulk crossover. Have wanted to do that for years.

Pineapple: AUs you like and/or have beef with

I've dabbled with high school and college AUs, and just modern, living AUs in general. Teen/ young adult versions of these characters can be really fun to write. It's just rare that it gets beyond the basic concept. I've found they become character studies rather than a plot heavy story. It's really dependent on my writing partner, and how much fun we have bouncing back and forth with the interactions.

I'm pretty much open to playing with any AU idea, but I can't promise I'm good at it.

Berries: favorite underrated thing in your fandom

I love how open people are about sharing their character interpretations. People tend to just have fun with it, even going so far as to rp the same characters together in a thread, but just state they're from an alternate dimension, which makes total sense in a house where any door can lead to anywhere in the universe. There have been multiple instances I've read or been a part of where a ghost met their "twin."
