Since year 2000, PANTONE (American company that created “Pantone Matching System”) has tended to announce what colour is in trend in the following year. Designers, fashion houses and retail stores create their new clothing collections basing on the colour that will be dominant in the next 12 months. Tigerlily in 2004, Emerald in 2013, Ultimate Gray and Illuminating in 2021, Veri Peri in 2022…So what is next? What colour is going to be the colour of the year 2023?

Jeans have always been an irreplaceable item in every person’s wardrobe. Practical, comfortable and lasting, jeans have a wide range of models, colours and forms. You can find jeans of any price category so this is a kind of clothing that is always affordable. Let’s have an insight into what jeans trends will take place in 2023.

2021 was the year when 90-s and 2000-s became popular again. Feathers and fur, crop-tops and mini-skirts became very trendy again and got the hearts of fashion lovers. In 2023 low waist jeans, another 90-s trend, are again in stylish charts. You can choose a plain pair of blue low-waist jeans or find some bright colours. Don’t forget that long wide leg jeans are the most popular silhouette now. Complete your look with some short top and a small baguette bag and win the streets!

Another trendy model coming from the past is cargo jeans. Cargo pants are originally an item of military workers but nowadays such jeans are favoured by both men and women for their interesting style and practicality. The distinguishing features of this model are a baggy silhouette and a big number of pockets placed in the sides. Such jeans look great with both tight and oversized jumpers and T-Shirts. Cargo jeans are a must have for making a trendy street-style outfit.

You must have noticed that leather pants had become an important part of women’s wardrobe for the past several years. Before we could see that skinny leather pants used to be very popular among fashionistas but the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 showed us that today straight and wide leg leather trousers are on top of fashion charts. 

Coming in various colours, this model of pants is becoming a clothing base, in other words, a closet staple. Due to their factures and forms, eco-leather pants may be combined well with different kinds of sweaters and tops. You can wear it with high-heel shoes or with classic sneakers and trainers, there is no limit in your ideas. If you want a total leather look, put on a nice leather jacket or a coat and be in the spotlight.

Back to 2023...

When I was searching for a job in 2023, I found that one vacancy of an author of fashion articles. I got really interested, so I applied to the vacancy, and got a test task right after. The task was to: write an a short article about yourself; write 3 articles about the most popular trends of that year; create 5 outfits. The tasks were thoroughly completed meeting the deadline and sent to the email of the employer. I was patiently (or not really patiently) waiting for the results, and then... nothing. Yeah, bros just ignored me. Well, I guess they might have used my work for free haha. But who knows now?

I guess that case have inspired me to create this blog. The thing is that I would like to share the articles and the outfits with you. The next posts will be dedicated to my work I did in 2023.
