anyways in MY version of events barriss isn't a fucking terrorist she DOES become disillusioned with the war and ahsoka's framed by some other extremist and barriss leaves the temple and so does ahsoka and maybe they make out sloppy style idk

THAT'S the end of season 5. best choreo, animation is in a really good spot, the arcs...the writing.....well my full rants are on tumblr. the strongest episodes were w maul and mandalore.

No literally of all the criticisms of the Jedi why go with one that makes no sense. There are better things to criticize them for.

right like maybe someone could gripe w them about the fact that they gave into the political sway of the senate so fast. maybe they should have pushed back on palpatine's handling of the war more. anything!

I know that nothing exists in a void but I wish if people were gonna base Star Wars things off of real world cultures or religions that they would be respectful about it like even aside from the canon stuff like Barriss and the very glaringly obvious paralells of a decently Muslim-coded person being a bomber there's people who lift stuff from real world people for fanfic and it just gets weird sometimes

yeah ive seen some strange thngs in my day. and what you realize when you read + think + grow is that a lot of people's baseline understand of writing, cultural appropriation, stereotyping, world history, and even like critical thinking skills is VERY low. people just copy and paste without thought. the things that jump out to me with the bad batch and the clone wars are things that lots of people have just never even considered. do you know how many people struggle to identify when media is being racist? like the idea of a racist cartoon is unfathomable to them. do you know how many writers truly believe they're incapable of being racist? and then they write the clones as violent sex-obsessed brutes while the nearest white character is physically small and helpless (that was a real fic I saw im not even playing w you).

wish people would read and pay attention more. get used to asking yourself where stereotypes come from and recognizing the patterns in your writing. you (general you) are not immune to propaganda! nobody is!

like im actually kinda shocked. and maybe (BEING REALLY GENEROUS) its so bad and weak on purpose because she's not meant to make sense, she's just meant to be Bad TM to push the plot forward but its lke....."the jedi have fallen to the dark side! we're the real enemies! we need to be put on trial (for what we dont fucking know)! the only solution was to....bomb Jedi, clones, and civilians."

and this is my other gripe, too. lots of people hate the Jedi and a religious difference/conflict is one thing, but the implication is that the Jedi are failing the republic somehow. but like where? they keep winning. pretty consistently they help member and non-member planets fight off the separatists. those are the battles and conflicts we see most often. people accuse the Jedi of being criminals, but all they kill is droids. 99% of the "deaths" is just droids that the average citizen wouldn't give a shit about anyways. do people blame the losses devastating losses on the Jedi? can we like, see that? people's trust in the Jed is falling -- why? When did it start? What was the catalyst? How?

do people think the Jedi should be doing more humanitarian work? is this propaganda set up by palpatine and fed to the masses over months, a la the Ghormans in andor? I know the war is steadily unpopular, but this aspect of the Jedi being blamed for nebulous Issues and Problems is fresh in my memory. where did it start.

barriss was a healer. she was kind, she was gentle, she was smart, and she was ahsoka's friend. and between s2 when we last see her and now, she's turned into a terrorist. she's got a headscarf on, coded as a hijabi as far as i can tell, and they make her BOMB A TEMPLE.
