Hello! I have a genuine question about pro-shipping and it's validity, if that's the correct term for it.

Due to things like s3xual trauma and overall trauma related to things like that, I think i'm a proshipper.

I often find myself in depressive episodes, and sometimes hypersexual episodes where I think about NSFW things relating to things like proshipping relating to my trauma (Like self projection in a sense), however I would NEVER do that to anyone. I have no interest in doing that to children, I would never want to harm real people.

I'm also a roleplayer, however, and in my hypersexual episodes I often want to roleplay these self-projection type things with characters from fandoms i'm in.

Is it bad that I sometimes find myself wanting to roleplay this? :(

Hello there!

Proship by itself is a discourse opinion so it’s unrelated to trauma. However, labels are yours to use depending on your preferences. You are allowed to use sexual content as a form of coping or self projection. It does not make you a bad person for wanting to make that content. Fiction is yours to do with as you please even if it’s problematic. You can keep it private, you can keep it public, it’s your choice. I hope you are able cope and find help for your trauma because you deserve it. I would say more but head empty so if anyone else has anything to add, feel free to reblog or send an ask!
