vivzie is the executive producer of the show. she isn't listed as a writer, artist/animator, or director

as executive producer, vivzie is presumably is in charge of hiring people, but notably there is a voice director separate from her (richard horvitz) that will most likely be in charge of casting

the director is skye henwood; she is an animation director and writer at spindlehorse

the hiveswap act 3 team and the show team are largely made up of different people (there are exceptions ofc such as andrew presumably overseeing both things because it's xeir story), their productions likely don't affect each other

we are getting more hiveswap news in october

the homestuck website is still being worked on (quote from james on july 1st: "I’m happy to announce that we should hopefully be operational again pretty soon, so please stay tuned for that and we’ll keep you updated when it’s finally back up and running.") i could have sworn he named a specific guy from the hsbc web development team who was working on it but i can't find the exact source for this at the moment. so the show does not impact this project either

im on team anti-hussie and neutral on gio because hussie does have a track record of acting like a defiant asshole in their personality way even before all the whatpumpkin hiveswap stuff went through the motions. if gio seems to “have something against hussie” maybe it’s for a reason? you guys are like hussie worshippers but he/she/they (i dont care i’ll use them interchangeably like hussie says they want. but for something tells me hussie themself doesnt give a shit) has always been kind of a scummy person if you look at their past. theyre a great artist who has a real talent for worldbuilding but you guys seem like you’re groveling at their feet. you can think what gio wrote wasn’t in good taste, and you guys have a point about the antisemitic joke but that’s like…. not the POINT of the post. you guys are so lost in the weeds.

the question is why can’t hussie respect their fans, and manage their own fucking property if they actually care about it so much and use ruffle? mspa was fine. they keep fucking kicking the hornets nest. they sound horrible to do business with. hiveswap still isn’t fucking finished. why is hussie hiding behind a bunch of people and wrapping them up into this. why cant they just be up front? pussy behavior. and then this one-two punch? why does this drama exist in the first place?

ok sorry actually i have to 'and another thing' one more time about the hsbc writers, but if we are to presume a perpetual bad egg status because gamzee "says fucked up shit" before any acts of violence take place and the example with which we have to work with are things like a single off color comment about terezi being blind/an orphan (which i have my thoughts on intentionality in getting a rise out of her but whether gamzee strictly means to upset her is irrelevent here) then i kind of expect that to actually matter when other characters do it. eridan and equius are outright fascists who skirt consent and belittle the agency of their girlfriends openly from their first logs basically until their deaths. vriska and terezi gleefully murder other children and feel justification under the assertion that weakness is a moral failing. karkat openly values a social order which seeks his destruction. i could go on.

obviously it isnt to say none of these characters deserve sympathy and a capacity for growth, or that the story is not making a point in presenting them as it does, but like. come on lol if we are letting a child making a few off color comments paint an image of the entirety of their interiority we should at least be consistent about it.

i had some trouble getting the dialogue to feel right, but i think it's okay how it is now. the next part is what i'm most excited for.
