now before y’all go freaking out on me: i’m not cancelling anybody or hating on the boys. but like i think it’s important for us to recognize that being in a mental institution isn’t something to be taken lightly.

last month, i had a friend who was going through a crisis and had to be institutionalized for a weekend after i took her to the ER so that she wouldn’t hurt herself. i myself am on medication for my depression and anxiety. and people with psychosis are much more likely to hurt themselves than others. and the me vuelvo loco video perpetuates negative stereotypes against all these things.

i’m not saying that you can’t enjoy the song or the video, but just be conscious of how this video further marginalizes folks with mental illnesses and disabilities.

i’m just sad cause the song is actually good & catchy but the video just ruins it. i know we joke about the boys having one brain cell but i really feel like they should know better. they could have done a similar idea with like a girl making them crazy seeing her in everything, tv, playing cards, etc. WITHOUT the mental hospital & straight jackets like wtf who’s idea was this & who approved it?!

the boys are at a very important time in their career, they should be avoiding doing anything problematic at all. who in their management allowed this to happen?!?! i just want to talk.
