Learning Technique
Being a baseball coach one thing that we all need to strive to be the best at is, learning the proper techniques in all areas of the game. I feel as a coach we need to make it a top priority to learn and get better at the game everyday. The reason we need to have this goal is because our players are depending on it. As somebody who is the club baseball director of a program I believe I have a duty to learn everything about the game. I am the kind of person who strives to be the best coach day in and day out. The way I do this is do research everyday, and then put out content for my players to learn. Whether the content is in person at practice or on my social media platforms I will always find a way to show my players what I have learned for them.
First off I want to thank my coaches for giving me a base of knowledge which gave me incredible passion for the game of baseball. I would not be where I am today in baseball if I didn’t have good coaches who cared about making my teammates and I better. But when I think about my career as a whole I feel when I was done playing baseball is when I learned the most about the game. I give a ton of credit to social media platforms for this new knowledge that has been learned. With that being said I want to thank any coach or organization who is posting consistent content and shares their passion for the game.
How do you learn more about technique on social media? With the new world of technology hashtags are key. I search for things such as #hittingdrills #pitchingdrills, #infielddrills, #catchingdrills, and #outfielddrills. Anybody reading this now who is a coach I challenge you to try this out. I promise you will be surprised with what you find. With that being said if you are not too sure about a drill that’s where mentors come in.
Every player, coach, and parent needs a mentor in the baseball world. A mentor is somebody who has been there and done that and there is a lot of different information out there. Not all the information is good information, but any content with the right intentions that is put out to make players better is something I respect. However your mentor will be able to give you his or her opinion on how they feel about the coaching content you have questions about.
My advice is to try everything and ask questions. Don’t be afraid to admit you don’t know something about a certain area of the game. The people that admit they have learning to do are the ones who will get ahead in the end.

Team Building
What’s up everyone my name is Michael Apreda I am the Club Baseball Director for AD Titans Baseball I wanted to take time out and talk about my take on team building I recently was on the 1houghtforce podcast speaking about this but I wanted to also put it into words with how I feel about this topic.
When I think about team building I think about how do we as coaches connect with our players. First thing I want to do as a coach is to teach my guys how to compete. By doing this I try to be competitive myself around them. If I show that I am competitive and am constantly working than I believe that this will rub off on my guys. Second I like to teach my players the importance of having a routine. In baseball where it is such a game of failure having a strategic routine for your development is crucial. Once we teach our players about routines we put them in a room with one another and we share our routines together as a group. Lastly, if you are trying to develop a solid team you need to get your players to understand what a team first mentality is. It’s important that the players understand their roles on the team and if he doesn’t then this can be a big problem for your ball club.
Tumblr media
The best way to teach all of these tactics that I spoke about above is to get everybody together in an environment and go over every topic. Let them know what you expect of them, and make sure they understand that you’re going to put in the work as well. As coaches we need to continue to learn and develop. Team building starts from the top and if we don’t hold ourselves accountable our teams will never accomplish what we intended on them to accomplish.
That is my two sense on team building. For more content on AD Titans Baseball be sure to follow our other media platforms below.
