Listen. To the artists and writers who create works that are a bit OOC, or maybe use too much fanon ideas, or anything like that: keep doing whatever makes you happy. Personally when I read or view that kind of stuff I don't really care that much about it I'm just kinda enjoying it regardless. I think I used to, thought I Had To, and slowly I stopped caring about it so much and tried to look like I care to fit in with people but. Really it's fine.

For those that care about those things, that's great! I'm sure you take a lot of pride in creating and reading/viewing accurate fan works and what not. But people are making these things for fun in their own free time for Free. They are not required to hold up some Quality Standard of Fandom. And their passion and love for the thing they're making fan content for is not somehow lesser for doing whatever they want. Nor are any fanworks they make lesser.

In the most positive way possible, regarding fanworks, nothing matters. Just do whatever makes you happy and share it and very likely other people will also find joy in it and really that's all that Does Matter. Doesn't matter if some people don't find joy in what you make, it's fine, they can curate the content they view. Be happy.
