Random idea/headcanon I had earlier that I really wanted to draw: What if the Alicorn Amulet actually turned the wearer into an alicorn (à la Sunny g5) so long as it was worn?
Tumblr media
So here’s evil pseudo-alicorn Trixie with that idea in mind (explanation below)

Also I just thought the idea was cool and I wanted to draw it lol..

so many of the transfems i know spent their time pre-transition performing a kind of lifelong exercise in self-deprivation. the goal, for them, was to find out exactly how little a person needed to live. they starved themselves, dressed carelessly, shunned friends, and hollowed themselves out so as not to be burdens on anyone but themselves.
i see it now, too, in the girls around me. i'll ask if they want care – a home-cooked meal, relaxed company, sex without the expectation of reciprocation – and they say no, no, thank you, i don't need it; what would you like, what do you want, because in their head they're still doing that awful calculus, still training themselves to disappear in the eyes of the people around them.
i don't think i'd have died without transition – not in the conventional sense, at least – but to take that leap, i had to stop thinking of myself as a human experiment in fuel-efficient living and start nurturing the anemic, atrophied flame of desire in my heart. i had to learn to eat well, to exercise, to style myself beautiful, but harder than that, i had to learn to ask the people around me to work on my behalf in order to enrich my life and give me the things i wanted.
and i did it; i learned. and it was agony, but courage is a muscle you can train, and every day i get better at accepting gifts with the hungry gratitude i never learned in my years and years as a sad, scared, lonely boy.
so be patient with the trans girls in your life. better than that: be proactive, attentive, generous; be forceful, if you have to, and learn to distinguish real discomfort from the terrified reflex of self-deprivation that so many of us learned to rely on.
and if you are so lucky as to love a trans girl, you must insist upon her. you must insist upon her happiness, her comfort, her pleasure, and her rest, because she may still not yet know how to make those demands for herself. if you can devote any amount of energy to becoming an engine that nurtures the flame of even a single tgirl then there is a place for you in trans heaven, which as far as i'm concerned is the only one worth going to

Okay, so, there's a lot going on here and this isn't recommended for long-term missions.
Future Cocoa here. Obviously I can only discuss this in theory.
Short answer: [Tachy] is endangering her life by disabling the feature.
To prevent confusion, the subroutine generating this report replaces [Tachy]'s name with Tachy. / / please remember to remove the brackets when implementing this code. Wait did I type that comment right?
[Tachy] is venturing into unknown territory and we can't accurately predict everything she's going to do and what it would do. It's entirely possible that our method of time travel has some flaws in it. In fact, we expect it to do so.
First, contact with past people. If [Tachy] does this, as she appears to have done, it does destroy the universe. [Tachy] has, through her actions, killed everyone in the future. Well done.
She's done this by branching a parallel timeline, which means that the circumstances of her timeline will never come to pass. Therefore, everyone she meets will have a different life trajectory than in her own original timeline.
Which means I am dead. Luckily I am a copy of a report written and sent back in time with her, and so I am immortal and cannot die. Literally a .txt file that snuck into Dottie's programming.
Now, as for the world exploding... we don't know. We're taking a massive risk with this project and the grandfather paradox. If you go back in time and kill your grandfather before you're born, who killed your grandfather? The circumstances that led to you travelling back in time never existed.
Either in this circumstance the universe will continue on as normal and create a parallel timeline, or the paradox situation will create... well, paradoxes. And we don't know how well paradoxes hold up in reality.
We've tried simulating this. We've created universes and tried flipping a bit so that it's both 0 and 1 at the same time. Turns out the computer doesn't like this. And actually treats it as a 1 because apparently that's how assembly code works. Nice. We wasted an afternoon doing that.
It's possible that this mission is flawed. The paradox will not branch off into another universe, and through the butterfly effect either the universe will contrive itself to resolve the paradox in a... err... Final Destination effect? Or it could be a stable time loop. Or it just crashes the universe.
But we would rather reload the save than persist in the doomed world in which we live in. Which is why we authorised this mission.
But [Tachy]'s also connected to Dottie due to her traumatic brain injury (TBI).
In a past instance, see report [TACHY]-MEDICAL-EXAMINATION, [Tachy] suffered cranial trauma and the doctor who treated her diagnosed her with a TBI. This causes dizziness, swelling, and memory loss, and in some ways has limited her brain function.
In order to assist with [Tachy]'s TBI, we developed a subroutine of the Dottie system that would assist in memory reactivation. As memory is fundamental to the pony experience, and how we experience the world, [Tachy] could no longer consider herself [Tachy]. In fact, I could hardly call her [Chy]y anymore.
Disconnecting herself from the Dottie system would cause further degradation of [Tachy]'s psyche and potentially even loss of self and consciousness.
We, in the Mare Who Pranced Through Time Project, are aware that [Tachy] will encounter dangerous situations. In such situations, being stuck in a recall subroutine would not be conducive to further life. Therefore we have the option of putting this particular processor on a spinning loop that will not generate interrupts... but will continue to load the memories anyway.
We... are not sure how much of a buffer this needs. Combat could take minutes, hours, or days. Upon returning to safety, the spinning loop can itself be sent an interrupt and the buffer will load in.
Which means, [Tachy], if you're bothering to read this report, that you will suffer multiple subsequent flashbacks in a row when you re-enable this.
The memory-recall aspect of the TBI is only part of the solution. If we had more time, more equipment, and a better world, we could solve the other issues [Tachy] suffered. The brain damage. The tissue scarring. The degradation of neural links.
Ideally, our Dottie routine will be able to handle all of these separately.
Ideally, Dottie will be able to be used to treat brain injuries in other ponies. We're creating a better future. Maybe. Replicate Dottie. Put her in the hooves of Molly. Maybe she saves many other lives.
...Ideally.
We didn't have time. We didn't have HER. If Professor Ada were here, she'd've solved it.
The neural connection was developed FAST. We didn't test it. We didn't do clinical trials. We just made something that would allow [Chy] to keep a sense of self.
All the fixes should be their own subroutines. They're not. I barely know the difference between a JSR and a RTS instruction.
If [Chy] disables the other parts of Dottie, I don't know if she'll survive. Her brain's being held together by what is essentially duct-tape and hope. Maybe she'd survive and have minor scarring. Maybe she'd fall apart and suffer intracranial haemorrhaging.
Thus did speak Cocoa, who is not a medical professional. But basically "don't disable it for too long, things might get funky". Okay, sweet [Chy].
