“Interestingly, God’s remedy for Elijah’s depression was not a refresher course in theology but food and sleep… Before God spoke to him at all, Elijah was fed twice and given a good chance to sleep. Only then, and very gently, did God confront him with his error. This is always God’s way. Having made us as human beings, He respects our humanness and treats us with integrity. That is, He treats us true to the truth of who we are. It is human beings and not God who have made spirituality impractical.”

House for Living in a Park is a minimal residence located in Hyogo, Japan, designed by Shuhei Goto Architects. The house faces a park frequented by residents of the community and serving as an entry point to an approach to Yuzuruha Shrine with a 1170-year history. Large green trees are lined up on the edge of the park and flowers blooming beautifully mark changes of four seasons. The architects envisioned a “life with the park” in designing this house.

Hollow Light is a minimal lamp created by Berlin-based industrial designer Hayo Gebauer. Hollow Light is medium-sized table lamp casting a soft atmospheric light. Its generous proportions combined with a simplistic geometry provide it with a chummy character. Viewed from an angle the perceived heft of the body reveals that the illuminated glass cylinder is in fact hollow and no light source is present inside of it.

a long time ago i learned that a big part of your life needs to be undocumented and just simply enjoyed in the present. you don’t need to post a picture of the book your reading for it to be good. you don’t need to have a pic of you posing before the sea as proof that u had a good trip. there’s a very fine line between manufacturing moments for future nostalgia and honoring happy experiences by commemorating them into art. and it’s all about intention: do i want to take a picture because it would look good on ig or do i want to take a picture because i do not want to forget how insanely happy i am right now? or, preferably, do i even need to take a picture at all?

Peckham Rye House is a minimal residence located in London, United Kingdom, designed by Draper Studio. The rear facade needed to have a large opening and be predominantly glazed to maximize the engagement with the rear garden. The rear facade walls returned to either house cabinetry or provide a dwelling across all the seasons. Key to achieve cost efficiency was to use as many self finished materials from easily obtainable ‘highstreet’ and ‘trade’ sources as possible.
