He stared at the Lop in the white coat for a second. Then, the sudden stop in motion made his knees give way. Before they could hit the floor, the doctor wrapped her arms around his chest. His breath is quick and shallow from the adrenaline. He tries pushing away from her. "Where's Jacob?" He cried out while clawing at her coat, his arms too weak to get away. "Where's my baby?" Finally, he gives up on his escape as she cradles the young Fox in her arms on the floor, trying to calm him down. He sobs into her chest as the adrenaline subsides. "Jacob?" He cries in a strained voice before drifting off.

Panic seeps into him when he remembers. He reaches down with a shaky hand. He runs it over his distended stomach, where the pain radiates. The machine's beeping is now loud in his ears. He grabs at the wires and tube connected to him. He detaches them. A sudden flat line rings throughout the room, silently alerting the doctor. He flings the blanket off himself and rolls his legs over the side. As soon as his feet hit the cold tile floor, he wobbly walks to the door. He holds his stomach, trying to ignore the now sharp pain. Before he can grab the handle, the door flies open.

A soft rhythmic beeping and dull pain in his abdomen roused him from his sleep. A dim light came from overhead, giving the white room a yellow glow. He tries to move his hands, but they're heavy. He slowly looks around the room, trying to remember what happened. He closes his eyes only to see bright lights above and bright colors below before everything went dark. A face is stuck in his mind. With an aching hand, he reaches for the back of his neck to feel the mark that adorns it. His breath gets caught in his throat when he wonders where his husband is.

Falve's Recruitment

Time to run. Mama pulled us from our bed, shoving clothes over our heads and dragging us down the stairs. Through the garden. We reached the catacombs only to be pinned to the door by the Knights of Falve. They grabbed my brother and me while we shouted for them not to hurt Mama. Too young to understand what was going on. They knocked Mama to the ground. Carried the three of us away.

They kept me and my brother separated from Mama. We cried for her. They yelled at us to stop, but we only cried more. Finally fed up with the noise, they took me away. They strapped me to a chair. Scared, I struggled to move my arms through the belts like I’d done with many objects before. It didn’t work. I couldn’t get out.

A knight pulled up a chair, sat down, and removed his helmet. Red streaks disrupted his sandy blonde hair. He looked sad as he stared into my eyes. I couldn’t look away until a shooting pain ran through my head. He wanted to know something. I fight back against his telepathy. The pain only gets worse. In a desperate attempt to stop him, my body releases my energy in the form of lightning. They were striking him and the other knights in the room. Exhausted, I collapse back into the chair.

I wake up later, unrestrained in another room, alone. Yelling can be heard outside. A loud bang against the door startles me to the farthest corner. The large door swings open, and standing in the doorway is a silver-haired woman in the Morydrian Knight’s uniform. She rushes over to me and scoops me up. A gentle crackle of energy calms me. I feel safe when the knight passes me to Mama. Mama cooed over the new red in my and my brother’s hair.

Lady Eerie's Intro

Long before the Kingdom of Norlia existed a forest of dreams. The forest was protected by a powerful race known as Elk Fairies. Healers by nature, the race was kind to its visitors, The stories of their miraculous healing abilities spread across the land. But their popularity soon became their downfall.

During one calm evening, a vicious storm rolled in. An unusual sight in the forest as its magic doesn’t allow clouds to form at all. Soon, lightning began striking the village. The storm's appearance became clear, Bounty Hunters. The lightning from their Star Walkers, inducing chaotic panic. They took advantage of this planned distraction to capture every Elk Fairy and take their beautiful jewel-like wings and swirling horns, killing everyone else. Lacking a proper defense, the Elk Fairies were weak against such a large-scale attack. Within a few hours, the hunters had stripped every Elk Fairy of their wings and horns. They died shortly after, crumbling to dust. Unbeknownst to the hunters, the wings and horns would do the same soon after they left the village. By nightfall, they had wiped Elk Fairies from existence or so they thought.

Enter our young Elk Fairy who ran away from the village early that day. She was near the forest edge when the storm came, but by the time she arrived back home to damage was done. Everyone she knew was gone. Bodies of other races who came to be healed were scattered. Heartbroken and alone, the young Elk Fairy who sought no revenge, continued to protect the now empty village. Their mind shattered from the loss. She felt nothing for a very long time. Burying the dead. Learning all she can from the remaining books without someone to guide her. Without a teacher, it took longer for her to gain her adult wings. Much, much longer. Hundreds of years. Receiving adult wings requires an Elk Fairy to save the life of someone of equal power to our own. After the attack, no one came to the forest anymore. So she left behind all she’s known to find her wings.

Without her wings, she wasn’t as powerful as her brethren once were, but she blended into the mixed-race towns more than if she had them. She met many on her journey. Healing along the way. Finding a different and new way to heal. She became a legend shared throughout the land. A mysterious woman shows up, heals, then leaves with few words. Years pass and seasons change, but she never ages. She asks for nothing. Only wishing for them to live a long and fruitful life. Lives she watches come and go over time. From birth to death. Her quiet nature has earned her the name Lady Eerie.
