        why doesn’t she have classes? she supposes she does— she could tell you about the things she’s done in her classes, about the things she’s learning— but she doesn’t seem to remember actually going to those classes. she knows the answer, of course, but it seems such a dull answer. it’s too forward, really ( you’re not supposed to know yet ) and so she furrows her eyebrows, drops her hands to her hips, and lets her head tip to the side.         “what are you talking about, dummy? of course i have classes. math, science— just like you. i just don’t like talking about those because they’re boring and they suck. the club is fun.”

        because those classes have nothing to do with the plot of the game.

        oh, now she’s mad! her reaction comes in multiple parts that fuse together in a way that seems almost seamless, as if they were meant to be one. she jumps, eyes wide and jaw clenched, then she grosses her arms over her chest, fingers twitching, and finally she turns her face away, chin high and eyes shut. “you’re so stupid! the short, cute ones are the ones you have to look out for.”        but that doesn’t make her feel better, not really. because she’s short because she’s unwell, because she’s short and her dad gives her hell for it, because she’s short, especially, for someone in her shoes. she doesn’t mind being short until someone uses it as a reason to demean her. that’s when it bothers her, when she no longer feels cute but annoying and wrong, and when she snaps because she’s insecure.
