Graduation
Finally graduated last month! My operating systems class was brutal but we made it. I took a month off and now it’s time to grind out leetcode and look for a job :’)

New quarter!
Started at OSU’s post bacc program and I sometimes feel that I’m drowning and I know nothing. Currently taking these courses:
Introduction to Usability Engineering
Data Structures
Web development
Parallel Programming
I also had my first hacker rank sent to me by Snowflake and that was a disaster :) My hacker rank was 3 question 90 minutes and I had 1 leetcode easy question and 2 hard ones. I will go cry myself to sleep now :D

2021
Starting 2021 I’ll be taking a pretty heavy load. I’m starting Oregon State University in the spring. During this upcoming winter quarter I’ll be taking the following classes:
-discrete mathematics
-operating systems
-advanced C++ programming
;-; not looking forward to it

2 years later
Since my last post I’ve taken around 9 CS classes at community college and I’ve applied to the post bacc program at Oregon State.
9 classes I’ve taken
-intro C++
-object oriented C++
-Data Structures and Algorithms
-Intro to web development (no javascript for some reason)
-Network Security
-Intro Java
-Intro to SQL
-Intro to Data Communication/Networking
-Intro to Computer Architecture and Assembly Language
Out of all the classes I think Java and SQL were actually the hardest for me. It was really hard for me to transition my thinking from C++ syntax to Java.
Next quarter I’ll be taking Discrete Math and Advanced C++ programming. I’ve been trying to do a leetcode question per day to also just practice coding and I got stuck on an easy string question. That kinda lowered my morale :( but I’m going to keep at it.

Day 1
I’m going to be starting off with the course Web Development 101 on theodinproject. Hoping that I can learn something from this, if I’m being honest I don’t think I’m smart enough to code, but I won’t know until I try :D

Leading Thoughts
After researching and looking at other people’s adventures with coding, I thought I would document my own studies. I’ve tried once or twice to do some research about what it takes to be a software engineer or at least know how to code, and started off with CS50 the recommended Harvard free course. Though every time I would drop it and the adventure would end. This time I’m determined to take different approaches and start anew as many times as it takes for me to at least start. Hopefully this ends well.
