CWFKB2025: Codywan First Kiss Bingo is back!

The 2025 edition of CWFKB is a Valentine’s Smooching Edition, coming to your Codywan dash February 1-14, 2025! Yes, that's right-- CWFKB 2 is a Valentine’s Boogaloo, and we can’t wait to get the smoochin’ started.

What’s different?  

The size of the bingo cards:  cards will be 3 x 3 instead of 5 x 5.  As much as we (the OG mods) were completely blown away by all the amazing fills, we had a lotta-bit of burnout that made it hard to enjoy the event and create for it, too.  More than one bingo-er also said they felt a lot of pressure to get a blackout, and 25 fills was a lot/too much. 

The posting timeline: CWFKB2025 bingo-ers will have two weeks to post their fills, from February 1, 2025, to February 14, 2025.  Because cards are 3 x 3, posters have 14 days to post 9 fills if they’re going for a blackout.  We want everyone to have fun!

And-- even though posting does end on Valentine's Day, the posts do not have to be Valentine's themed if you don't want. February was a good time for all the mods and helpers-- Valentine's themed fills are a bonus, not a requirement!

What’s the same? 

The rules are the same, but we’ve tried to simplify the language and condense it a bit.  The only “new” rule is that we ask codywaners posting images as part of their fills to use alt-text whenever possible. The rules post contains a link out to a how-to you can use in making sure your art is accessible to everyone in the fandom.  

What’s new?

Your OG mods Bee  @notthestarwar,  Lasagna @dontbelasagnax, and Lttrs @lttrsfrmlnrrgby are back, but we’re bigger and better thanks to the help with all the back-end work from @nhyhu, @biscuityskies, and @bluemaskedkarma – thanks to our new folks, we can keep up with all your asks, make sure we’re keeping on top of reminders and announcements, check and log your fills in a timely way, and make sure we’re reblogging your fills and rounding up all of your excellent work.  

Valentine’s Day is allonormative and hypercorporate and I’m not a fan, but ....

You’re probably not the only person in Codywan fandom who thinks this!  We still look forward to seeing your take on the prompts. Prompts do not have to be Valentine-themed! Fills featuring Codywans who are ace, aro, anarchist, anti-Valentine’s fills and more are all welcome– as long as Codywan have a first kiss in your fill, all’s fair in love or not-love and Clone Wars!

Interest Check for 2025

Hey everyone. After how 2024 went, I wanted to get a pulse check to see if AU Fest should return for 2025. It's possible that I just chose a really bad time to run the Fest and that's totally valid. I was told October was a really bad time for everyone so I moved it for 2024. But, turns out, maybe not a good idea.

AU Fest 2024 Posting Period is Live!

Hello my lovelies! Happy Sunday!

From now until June 29th, you are welcome to post all created works to the AO3 collection. Reminder that the reveal day is June 30th!

Once the 30th hits, please post your wonderful creations to tumblr (if you would like to), and I will reblog them*. I can't wait to see what wonderful AUs everyone has created for Codywan this year!

Two-ish Weeks to Go! (sort of)

Just thought I'd check in with everyone since May is slowly on it's way out the door. Wild, right?!

So, how's everyone doing? Posting starts on June 16 (runs until June 29). Everyone ready to post their works and see what everyone else has created on June 30th?

I do think, based on everything that's happened this year, that 2025 Codywan AU Fest will return to Halloween. I know there's a lot of events running in the Fall but it feels like so many more are running right now. I'll probably circulate a survey later (after this event finishes) to get everyone's opinions. I'd like your input to see where everyone sees AU Fest going in the future. ❤️

New Posting Time Frame/Date

So I realized my mistake on the poll lol I thought next month was June (it is, in fact, not June.). However, since I did say June, I will hold myself to June.

Posting Period: April 21-30 >>>> June 16-29 Collection Reveal: May 1 >>>> June 29

Hopefully this relieves some pressure on everyone (👀 myself included) and lets everyone wrap up their wonderful creations!

Hello again! I see a lot of you are on the struggle bus. So, in the interest of everyone being more comfortable, I have a question for everyone:

Right now, posting period is April 21-30th with reveal on May 1.

I could move it back a month so reveal would be June 1. Or I can figure it out based on votes/comments/etc.

Please let me know! I want to make sure no one feels stressed to get their creation in on time and ruin the fun of the event.

We had so many amazing prompts this year and the polls were so close on so many of them. It's always fascinating to see which ones y'all really want to create AUs around (just from a purely weird data perspective).

Hello and welcome to our second round of voting – our Elimination Round! After 110(ish) prompts, we’ve narrowed the runners up to 24 prompts.

2024’s final format will be 8 prompts, 4 scenarios, and 4 image prompts.
