I’ve went to a lot of music events that took place in the BeeHive this semester. I liked going because it’s just a couple of hours where you can relax and hang with friends or its a place where you can do homework and listen to awesome music! This to me is a peaceful night on Waynesburg campus. The music is always great and they always got something else going on! One night they gave out free coffee and cookies, another night is was wing night! It’s always something greaattttt.

I went to see and listen to 2018 Waynesburg graduate Melanie Kauffman. She sat and talked to us pertaining what she is doing now with her graduating major Forensic Science. She gave us a very blunt but needed talk about life after college. So far it was probably the most informal thing I’ve been to. She basically told us not to develop a fairytale in our head because the real world will shut it down quickly. The talk was very needed!

Life Lesson #3: Knowledge
Knowledge is something that we never want to lose. We should always try to be open-minded and try to expand our knowledge, whether it is street knowledge or school knowledge. Always try to seek some type of knowledge, try to have an excitement for learning. Ever since I was little I always wanted to know EVERYTHING, I always tried to be top of the class. It slowly went down over the years but my love for knowledge always been there and it was always easy for me to grasp. Coming to college was a difficult challenge for me. Learning in high school was easy but college is a whole other level. I realized that the classes that I was actually interested in the knowledge came easier for me but the classes I didn’t like it came harder. This also made me realized that I need to try and grasp an interest from the class and maybe it would be easier for me to learn it. My point is that you want to change your mindset and try to get interested in everything! Develop some sort of relationship with knowledge and your life might just be a little easier.

I also attended the Clifton Taulbert Lecture! When Clifton talks you can hear the serenity in his voice. You could tell that he actually cared about your life and he wanted you to do great things. He made excellent points and had inspiring messages. I am happy I got to attend it!

I attended the Waynesburg University homecoming football game and really enjoyed myself. I went with this girl I met on moved in day and had a blast! It was nice to see the homecoming king and queen get crowned. I always liked watching football, I went to every game when I was in high school. For me it’s a time to relax and just enjoy the night.

Life Lesson #2: Action
Taking action in your life is very important. It’s up to you to decide what needs to be done and when it needs to be done so your life can be better. Taking action could be as simple as pushing yourself out of bed to finish your homework or turning off Netflix instead of staying up all night watching it. Taking action in my life has always been the hardest for me. I’m a horrible procrastinator and do everything last minute. It honestly has effected me so much this first couple months on college and it’s hard to realize it until it’s too late. My goal for the next semester coming up is to do everything when I have the time to do it and not when it’s due the next day. It’s something that I pray to overcome.

Moving in to college was a scary but exciting experience. I was scared because I’m not really a people person and it just gives me anxiety being around people I don't know. I was excited though because I was reading to try and get out of my hole, make new friends, and decorate my dorm room! Decorating my dorm was probably my favorite part of the day lol.

Life Lesson #1: Choice
Having the freedom to choose our daily choices in life is a powerful weapon. We  get to decide little things like how we want to wear our hair for the day or what we want to eat for dinner, or we get to decide big things like whether or not we want to accept the job offer that may or may not change our lives forever. We make thousands of choices every day without even realizing it. It’s important for us to not take it for granted and use the heck out of our choices. During my first semester at college I've made a lot of stupid choices like staying on my phone for an extra hour instead of doing homework or studying. I would chose taking a nap over studying for the final I had the next day. These might seem like “little things” that don’t matter at the time but in the long run these “little things” can effect your future. I’ve been learning everyday how bad these choices take a toll on me so now it’s my job to overcome them.
