so far with the many things I am learning from VOWS & VENGEANCE CHAPTEE 1, alone, is that thanks to her working for Varric and being long time friends with him, not only does Neve know the full story of what goes down in DAII, but she knows EVERYTHING about Inquisition.
That and, she was hot on Solas’s metaphorical and literal tail.

the fun thing about Vows & Vengeance, is realizing that it's such a NORMAL thing for Neve to show up to Rana's door, with the after effects of some of the most OUTLANDISH conflict, usually injured or half blown up in some way by said ritual or ancient elven artifact, or is standing there with a massive breakthrough Rana didn't ask for.
tagging @pactheld because thank you for indulging me in the mental image of Neve standing there covered from head to toe in soot knocking on Rana's door with the energy of a black cat covered in fucking flower.

She sniffs, eyes lift upward to the top of the door as she examines the frame by pure habit. She blinks when she notices a new post hanging by the top post and she hums quietly - impressed. Oh that one's new. That hanging ivy was not there last time. Neve removes a glove as she looks it over, and then her eye returns to the succulents that made their home at the foot of the door. Quietly slapping the gloves together, ignoring the upstart of soot the fluffed outward from the hand wear themselves before finally reaches outward and knocks on the door.
RAP, RAP, RAP-
Three very deliberate knocks as she tucks those gloves under her arm right above the scepter. Yes, it was late, but Never knew that Rana was awake - if she wasn't she would be soon, and she never could turn Neve away at the door. What can Neve say, she knew she had a soft spot for her. Just as she hears noise behind the door Neve turns her head and quickly brushes more blackened soot from her shoulder before straightening when the door opens. The Detective lifts her eye with the toss of her head back and the puff of hair from equally ash smeared cheeks of her own and then smiles, giving a single lift of her shoulder to further accentuate her next words. "Knight Templar Rana ! What a... sight for sore eyes!"
