I have many complaints about the Oscar noms this year.

HOWEVER,

1917 is a fucking fantastic movie.

Are war movies overdone? Yes but this one is different.

Is it a bunch of white men? Yes it is.

Directed and written by a white man? Yes.

I’m literally studying film so I can hopefully break into the film industry and write more stories for people of color (which I am).

But, 1917 is a movie that has great artistry, with so much time and care was taken when making the movie. It’s spectacular. It is filmed as if it is one giant continous shot. It’s human.

Honestly the whole thing is beautiful. The movie is pure art and very few movies are (especially nowadays).

This is a movie that I implore people to actually give it a shot and go see.
