he is an only child and was raised on a ranch in roswell by a single father after his mother left when he was little to pursue a bigger life outside of roswell. the father and son duo were close from the start and colin looked up to him for his strength as well as his kindness and compassion.

his childhood was spent helping out around the property, taking care of the crops and animals, etc. but colin’s best memories were going camping with his dad and sleeping under the stars ... minus the one snake related incident which he won’t talk about.

in school, he was taller than most and a little on the shy side so he got a reputation for being a gentle giant. still, if anyone approached him or he was paired up for group projects then he’d try his best to make conversation. he also played on the football team in high school as a linebacker due to his height, however, he never was interested in going further with it despite enjoying the sport.

it was just days before colin’s graduation when his father was diagnosed with cancer and all potential plans for the future were put on hold. after selling the ranch to locals, the two bought a caravan then set out for a road trip across the country. his father passed away a couple of months after they’d returned to roswell.

his mother decided to attend the funeral and see colin for the first time in over a decade at the time which forced him to confront the buried feelings of abandonment and resentment. he’d agreed to one dinner in which he learned that she married a politician and started a new family. the both of them decided that it was for the best that their lives stayed separate and it came as a relief for him to lay that part of the past to rest.

for the next couple of years, he took on various odd jobs around town while trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. all it took was a glance at the box of special items that his father kept, but he came to the conclusion that he wanted to become a park ranger and work in the very same national park that his dad would take him on camping trips to.

HIGH SCHOOL CLASSMATE(S)   —   it could be anything from lab partners to teammates, but they would have had to attended school the same time as him.

EX-GIRLFRIEND   —   i’d imagine this would have been his first real relationship, maybe the one that got away ? he probably still thinks about them from time to time. i do ask that they be around the same age as him.
