-Grieving reader sets out to fulfill her late father's unfinished business, opening the last bed and breakfast in his chain.

-She brings nothing in her car for the cross country road trip other than her recording equipment and her father's urn that she talks to a completely normal amount to pass the drive.

-Her segment had recently gained more traction than she'd like. She (Ms. Claire) hosts an advice column for letters and calls called Claire-voyant on 100.7 the Charm. So no, she couldn't take more than a week or so off, the public demands it and so does her boss.

-She arrives at the BnB to find that it isn't abandoned at all, but people have been living there possibly for years.

The squatters on the premises are:

-Earnest, the deal making goblin

-Charlie (Charles), the invisible man

-Harper, the witch

-Caspian, the siren

-Logan, the vampire

And once he can make it, she is expecting the support of her best friend who's running just a little bit late.

-James, the best friend (and secret monster hunter)
