Completed fullsuit of Emperor, the greaser wolf! Features a pompadour that’s sky high and a number of internal upgrades from the first fullsuit I made (CMYK). Due to the convention season being pretty dodgy right now, hopefully this dapper canid will be at a con near you soon enough.

Finished commissioned artistic liberty raptor head! Head was originally custom-sculpted for this project, has hand-made flappy and floppy feathers, and so far the largest teeth I’ve ever made.

Are your Commissions for fursuits open?
Not right now! I’m setting my next opening to somewhere in early 2019. I’ll have a hard date when I get to the last commission on my queue.

Will you be selling any more of the previous model of toothy hyena? I saw you replaced the old listing with your new sculpt on your website! ^^
Unfortunately no! The mold is beyond repair and unusable. This is just from so many uses, silicone molds will eventually dry out. I’ve gotten better about spraying a lubricant onto my molds before storing them so hopefully my newer ones may last even longer. But they still have a limited life span so I have to make new ones after so long.

Some FAQ!
Where are you most active?
On Twitter! My main account is @/freckledoe and my fursuit-only/business-only account is @/ColoredCreature. If Twitter isn’t your jam and you prefer Instagram, my business Insta is @/colorfulcreaturesllc. But I’m not as active on there as I am my Twitter since I just don’t like Insta that much haha. I still post to tumblr but like very last and only major stuff.
When will you reopen for commissions?
I don’t want my queue to be a mountain of terror so when I get down to my last project I’ll make an opening date. This won’t be until ~somewhere~ in 2019 though. And when I do open, I’m changing my system to be just 2-ish at a time so my queue will be quicker and I will have more frequent openings. This is the best way I can manage fursuit work given my life circumstances. Also expect to see some more pre-mades and auction-based sales.
How do you breathe in those heads?!
I literally have someone ask this for every head I post and people walk up to me and ask multiple times a day when I’m wearing or vending lmao. The answer is simple: easily! I’ve designed the heads to be as breathable as possible since I went out on a limb and tried something with cmyk v1. It’s all just creative use of holes, fam.
Will you make moving jaws?
At some point yeah I will offer it as an option. I’m just not brave enough to do that yet haha. I have had a few people buy my bases and turn them into moving jaw heads though! I’m just really concerned about two things: 1) blending in the back of the mouth/hinged area well enough since they go far back and expose the whole set of teeth, and 2) all the interior bits of the mouth add weight. A lot of weight. And in a big toony resin head that weighs enough I’m kind of scared it will be just way too much for anyone to wear comfortably. Hurdles I must conquer!
What is your current pricing/offerings?
Check out my webbie here: https://www.colorful-creatures.com/copy-of-commission-1
Pricing is currently calculated on materials being 30%, which would also be the down-payment, plus my local tax rates. As I improve the cost of my time will increase, which is why the heads are a bit disproportionately priced since I’ve made more of them and have created some big improvements in that time. Aaand they take the most time. Full-body costumes will always be the most cost-efficient, which seems to be the case for most makers.
Is fursuit-making your full-time job?
Currently? Yes, but only because I’m taking one class to finish my degree. Will they be in the future? I don’t know. It could go either way depending on my job prospects over the next year. This is why I’m only taking 2-ish at a time from now on haha. I don’t want to stop making them though! I really enjoy it as an art form.
Wait, what’s your degree/possible career in?
An associate of science in animal husbandry/zoology. Lmao, almost the opposite of the art degree I started out with! So I’m about to be an animal science professional that makes fursuits. I’m looking into zookeeping mostly, but there’s ups and downs to that so I’m just keeping my options open and still focusing on fursuits as a worthwhile craft. I’ve completed internships at accredited zoos and I love it to death but I’m keeping an open mind!

Hey there! I saw your super cool smily wolf/dog bases, and I was wondering are they up for sale? I’d love to buy one!
I don’t have any canid bases yet (besides the one-off I made a couple years ago, the green one) so I’m not sure which one you’re referring to! But either way, I’m not currently open for any commissions or orders for bases. I’m pretty much operating only off of my Twitter anymore if you wanted to look out for sales postings.

Would you ever be willing to sell a base from your mold ? If not that's perfectly ok !! Your style is <3333
Depends on the mold! Ones for customer customs will sometimes be see a few limited castings for sale, like with the Pest head. None left for that though, but future heads might see some reproductions! Otherwise you can check out my web page for what bases I have regularly available when I specifically open for bases: https://www.colorful-creatures.com/bases
