Manganese Violet, which I found via a tip by writer of ‘Chromotopia’ and paintmaker @davidcolespaintmaker & Roof Tile Red (sold), pigment made by Verfmolen de Kat, Zaandam Photo by Allard Bovenberg at @soundlightcolor in Oct 2021 #pigment #pigments #purplepigment #purple #maganese #maganeseviolet #rooftilered #coloruben #thesunisnotyellowitisachicken #artworks #colors #eggtempera #eggtemperapainting #eggtemperapaintings — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3sAoDbz

Rooftile Red 2021 (sold), 100x100cm - egg tempera on canvas and wood - This natural wonder is currently enjoying summer and living in Australia with @jaivasicek and @thesharpy - This pigment is produced by the oldest and only operating paint wind-mill left in the world. It crushes up old Dutch rooftiles where it stands in Zaandam #verfmolendekat 📸 photo by Allard Bovenberg #rooftilered #pannenrood #rooftiles #rooftile #pigment #red #redpigment #earth #rubendehaas — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3sCvDV9

Still cant believe how well photographer Allard Bovenberg captured ‘The Sun is Not Yellow, It Is A Chicken’. The way he captured the works and the historic space from 1885 is timeless. This space was reopened during lockdown by @soundlightcolor as an open canvas for creatives to transform it into whatever they need: workshop-/expo-/performance space, etc. I never would’ve been able to have such a wonderful exhibition without this location. Grateful for that opportunity. Thanks for you all who’ve been part of my art-journey so far. From my mom teaching me the basics of colors, copying the font and bold colors of @pietparra to slowly developping my own hands, eyes and feels. Still this is always unfolding. I’m currently working on new stuff like realistic self-portraits, taking snapshots from tv’s from @marktplaats and a new range of Mixing Pixels. Some might be shared, others might just be part of my creative process in the background. Welcome also to all of you who are just discovering what I’m doing. Thanks for tuning in and taking the time to look. I love colors and I hope to lower the bar for anyone to create for themselves. As much as it’s fun to scroll down the gram and be inspired, getting ur hand dirty puts ur mind in another state that is priceless in my experience. Have a good xmas, new years and all that jazz, but mostly enjoy life daily. It flies by, also in these covid times. This is also a reminder to myself not to wait around for something to happen, but to keep moving. Slowly or fast, however feels right. And enjoy these pics by Allard Bovenberg, he is not on social media but he is a legend in The Netherlands and Belgium when it comes to exhibition photography 🙏 This show is dedicated to my dad (last photo) who is still with us today after a crazy year 🌞✨ Okay, until the next time! Thanks @dilrubatayfun #verfmolendekat #abokenzoon @davidcolespaintmaker @doriekeschreurs @jaivasicek @streefchurch and the chicken who produced all of the eggs 😋 #thesunisnotyellowitisachicken — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3HfFa93

The books during the show. Each containing an introduction about the exhibition, information about egg tempera, a little fun story about me and the ten stories of each color. They have 10 swatches of the original pigments inside. Yesterday I discovered to have 3 books left from this limited n numbered edtion of 50. They are €12.50 plus shipping each, DM me if interested. Can ship worldwide. — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/30iiVPC

Last week’s small viewing at my studio with @koelewijnels • On display were Umber & Raw Sienna, 2021 (close up of the latter can be seen in previous post with the chickens). These are two of the worlds oldest colors from my last show. Umber was often used by Rembrandt, since it dried faster then other brown pigments. This allowed him to work faster, Dutch efficiency 😅. Raw Sienna was used by Michelangelo on the Sistine Chapel. He used to go to the monks and nuns to get his pigments. In the monastries you see is where they used to grind up rocks into a fine powder. A timeconsuming task that requites a lot of patience when done by hand, some kinda Medieval Mindfulness excersize 😀 I’m working to get the audio tour and the pictures of the exhibition on my site and on here. Stay tuned 🤓 — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3knxCbk

Mahoni 2021, a mural in Schiedam (NL). Made together with @squaremeters at their lovely home. Check their feed for more pics and my IGTV for the making of this bright sunny mural. These are so fun to do, I’d love to make more of them this coming year, from HUGE to toilet size walls. Tag someone who needs a mural in their home 💛 — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3BB3mzb
