Ya ever think about the fact theres technically canonical alternate versions of the Commander in Tyria? Like if you pick a charr, a sylvari is still born whom does the first few instances of the story, for each of the races, and theres at least two of them that make it far enough to near rival you in the Pact to do the other two fear based instances?

Someone else watches Tonn die, someone else is tricked by mesmer magic. Theres someone each of the mentors trusts and puts forward to become an order member, you're not the only one at that meeting in Lions Arch. Someone who mourned Eir, their mentor. Someone who's sat at Zojias bedside, ever diligent as they sound out theories.

I wonder what lives they have, do they have children? Do they hold the same rank but lack the power of the title commander? Do they still work with the Pact? Did they fall along the way, one by one? Or have they carved lives into their stories? Happy endings? Local legends of The Valiant, The Slayer, The Hero, The Savant, and the Legionnaire?

Do they know how close they came? Do we make eye contact on a night you come into the room wounded and furious and they feel that strange tug of fate that makes them pray that whatever severed that cord understands how grateful they are. Do they have nightmares about becoming The Commander?

i want to know how deep their roots are in Tyria! I want to know how far North they lived before Jormag! I want to know the origins of the Spirits of the Wild! I want to know if the North has more magical and terrifying creatures! I want to know if Norns had culture clashes! Civil War! Religion! If they worshipped something before the Spirits, and what happened to them since! 

Norns are one of the oldest races in Tyria! They deserve to be expanded upon outside of Svanir and Jormag! They’re more than just their labor!
