Analysis on Gilbert

When Gilbert is outside with Dren,he says “"He's (Blough) is just a pig that tastes like curry soup” (note the fact that he says this when Serg is not around and Gilbert has no reason to lie)

However,this contradicts how he acts in front of Serg/his class when they go on a field trip.Gilbert decides to go out with Blough,even laughing when Serg tries to stop him

Here,he is more willing to go with Blough.This only happens when Serg can see him.To me,this suggests that Gilbert was lying,he WAS trying to make Serg jealous.

This is supported by the fact that when Serg says “But to offer up your body to Blough to make me jealous...”,Gilbert can be seen sweating,possibly because Serg figured Gilbert's true intent,making him anxious.(the pictures aren't in order in my visual example)

He then proceeds to throw a shoe at Serg and then laugh of Serg’s suggestion;if he thought that Serg’s suggestion was silly/stupid he wouldn't feel like there was a need to hit him.

In response to Serg’s suggestion “"are you saying you enjoy doing this things with Blough?!”, he laughs hysterically and then says “"I enjoy kissing and being held.Being held means more than just a hug,you understand,right?...caressing...kissing...filling my body with lust.” This can be interpreted as Gilbert attempting to make Serg jealous/give in to his desires.
