He let out a small sigh as he looked out the window of the bus at the passing, unfamiliar territory. He was no stranger to traveling alone, but this was a bit different considering Lorenz was supposed to be here with him. He knew it wasn't fully the other man's fault, but he still couldn't help but be disappointed. At this point, he was starting to wonder if all of their planned trips were doomed to go awry in some way. Hopefully this time he doesn't get eaten by some rogue wild pokemon..

Truth be told though, he was.. also a bit nervous. His interactions with Lo's family have been slim at best, and he certainly hasn't met anyone on his father's side. To be fair, introducing him to his own family was.. well, impossible at the time being considering how scattered they were. And that's not even mentioning his father being in prison. Either way, without Lo being there to properly introduce him he could only hope that he wouldn't come off as the most awkward person on the planet. But he'll just have to manage until the other arrived to pick him up.

After what felt like an eternity, his bus ride was finally coming to an end. He packed away the music he'd been listening to, and made sure to stretch as much as he could in his seat. His ass was so sore.. He grabbed up whatever bags he had and finally stepped foot off of the bus, immediately quite taken aback at how pretty the surrounding environment was. The light of the sun dancing off of the billowing grass accompanied by the sound of yanma buzzing about.. it certainly was a different kind of countryside than he was used to.

He was embarrassed to admit that it took him a moment to notice the girl that had been staring at him. Or rather, occasionally staring at him considering how much she was looking at her pokegear. He had a hunch this was one of the aforementioned family members he was looking out for, and that hunch was proven correct the moment she decided to approach him.

He lifted a hand in a small wave. "Yup, that's me- an' well.. I tend to get that a lot. Though, I guess I dunno what all Lo's told ya 'bout me.. Uh, pleasure meetin' ya either way! An' you're..?"

It had been way too long since the last time Lorenz and Adrian last went on a vacation together, so what a relief it was, when they could finally see each other long enough to plan their next trip, so they could depart hand in hand for some sightseeing in corners of the world they'd never enjoyed together... How romantic, how complementary, to get away from it all for a short while, when they were at their best; ie: in each other's company!

Yeah, right.

Not even four days after they bought the bus tickets, Lorenz found out he was gonna be held up for an important tournament in Fuschia City for a day longer than what was originally planned, and he and Adrian kind of got into an argument over this... Until they finally agreed on how they were going to organize, to reunite, and to finally be together.

At the very least, their destination wasn't that far from Kanto, so it wasn't like Lorenz was gonna make his boyfriend wait for more than a day. Indeed, the two of them had decided to go together to explore the province of Kitakami, where a sizeable portion of Lo's father's side of the family lived.

And, since Lorenz did not absolutely hate his uncles and cousins there, he gave them a call, and it was agreed on that Adrian would go ahead and stay at their house in Mossui before they could be reunited.

At least that was the plan. But when he finally arrived to the bus stop after a grueling seven hours ride, Adrian would find, as soon as he'd stepped out in front of the region's famous rice farms, that somebody was waiting for him. A younger girl, probably barely eighteen, who alternated rapidly between staring at him and at the screen of her Poké Gear. Finally she shrugged and walked all the way to him, her back hunched, like she clearly would rather have been literally anywhere else.

She was short and stout. Pouty. A bit stocky around the shoulders. Olive skinned. Had bushy purple hair. Didn't really take a genius to guess why she went for him specifically.

"Hi, is it you? Adrian, I mean." She finally asked. "You look a lot more... normal than I imagined."

He gave a sigh. "I can't fault ya on that.. I guess even I thought he was cool when I was younger, an' I wasn't that into the League. Hell, I even thought Rocket was cool.. Dad was real good at embellishing his stories, okay? Didn't take long to figure out how wrong I was at least."

Okay, now it's his turn to look extremely embarrassed.

"L-L-Look, when I was a kid he was the big star of the Indigo League, so it was basically impossible not to be obsessed with him. I even had his posters, and his books, and his sports jerseys, and a doll of his Nidoqueen, and his trading cards, and I ate his cereals, and... How was I supposed to know that he'd turn out to be a humongous piece of shit?"

"Youu.." He wrapped his arms tightly around him. "Ya can't jus' tease me like that, you'll make my heart give out y'know?" He pouted. "Al even??" His cheeks puffed as he reached to ruffle Lo's hair, finally giving a little grin. "There--now ya look like a Gengar."

"YOU--!!!!" He pounded playfully on Lo with his fists. "I come back an' this is the treatment I get!! I ain't good 'nough huh?? Too bad, cuz you're stuck with me now!!"

"Aha.. I guess you're right." He supposed he should have thought about the implications of the question before he asked, but despite how awake he was his brain was lost in 2am mode. "..Sorry for wakin' ya." Cookie made a small noise in complaint as he was disturbed, but quickly settled down once again. Adrian let out a content sigh as he felt Lorenz wrap his arm around him and cuddle up close. 

"Drifloon huh.." he murmured just above a whisper. A very small grin spread on his face as he imagined floating about freely, carried by the wind. He gave a small yawn as he finally felt his eyelids getting heavy. He was ready to welcome sleep at this point.

“I think... you’d be a real tough tyranitar..”

He was already drooling over his pillow when Adrian broke the relative silence of the night. It took him a certain measure of extra time to first pull himself awake, and then make sense of his boyfriend’s words. When his brain was finally up to speed, he blew through his nose.

“Y’know, that’s a pretty morbid thing to think about.”

He began shifting under the sheets, bothering Cookie who was sleeping at the foot of the bed. Adrian would then feel one arm wrap around him, followed by Lorenz’s breath over his nape as he positioned himself into an optimal spooning position. He let out a hum of deep reflection, before a response came to his lips, clear and undebatable.

“Drifloon.”
