Drifloon Evolves!

Did a silly collaboration with poopooghost's youtube channel for this animated Pokemon short! I made a quick little animatic and they... did literally everything else - just in time for Halloween!

Drifloon is one of my favorite Pokemon, so I do feel a little guilty for this uh... dirigible disaster. It's fine it's fine - you can't keep a good balloon down! And if you have the time, look up the Drifloon Pokedex entries from the various games - a lot to ponder there...

If hanazuki were to ever comeback, would you be willing to work on it again and what is your favorite hanazuki charatcer you were glad to work on in the show?

I WISH this show would come back, it was a hoot to work on as a board artist! I felt like our team was finally hitting our stride in the second season, but I don’t think Hasbro is going to make more. Seemed like they didn’t quite know what to do with the episodes we were giving them, unfortunately. More’s the pity, as we had some reeeally fun eps boarded out that never made it to animation.

Fave character: Miyumi was a delight to play with, but my series fave was Kiazuki cause we got to see her icy, resentful exterior crack and begin to thaw. Prickly characters like Kia are fun to poke at with Feelings Sticks cause you can start with subtle, begrudging reactions and then build to a very satisfying emotional outburst or possibly even coax out a rogue smile.
