If computers were made out of a more environmentally friendly material, what kinds of features might we have to sacrifice in/on the computer?

It might look less nice and "modern" externally, and it may need a better cooling mechanism because obviously stuff in the forest can catch fire.

Teens health is declining because of all the things on the internet. Many claim that it helps them socialize but really, it gets them away from people. Computers allow people to post what they want without having to confront a person face-to-face. This can tear apart friendships and ruin the way the teens act as adults. It doesn't help improve your chances at getting a good job because you will have trouble interacting with people without a screen in front of you.

Natural computer materials such as wood decompose quicker, but also use natural resources. We need to find a good balance for how to make our technology sustainable and decomposable

you stalk it for many hours. and don't get caught by the po po. that's the one mistake i made. You don't want to end up a jailbird like me. Don't do it. And depending of what your IT is, it all depends on how long you need to follow it. Maybe it's around the desert for 12 years. Who knows. To follow up on that last post. This feature also comes in handy for those who like to listen to music before sleeping. You can just set it for an hour after you decide to try and sleep. If it takes you an especially long time to fall asleep, you can set it for a longer time.

There are plenty of easy ways to save energy while still being able to use your computer when you need to. There is a way to set your computer so it will auto-shutdown. This feature comes in handy when you are downloading a movie, per say, and it will take 2 hours. But you started downloading it at 10 p.m. and you will be asleep by the time the download finishes. You can set your computer to shut down after two hours so it doesn't stay running. This tool is very underutilized and unknown by many. So help spreading the word and try it out.

If everyone would safely recycle their computer waste materials that would make computer usage a lot more friendly to the environment. Toxic chemicals can spill from the computers into the earth and harm our soil and water.

A huge part of computer usage is how we position our bodies while sitting at a computer. This can cause health issues galore. By simply having better posture we can improve our environment. So look at the way you're sitting right now. Are you slouching? Stop. When you look again in 5 minutes and you've completely slouched back into your original position then sit up straight again. You've got this

The biggest problem with computer pollution is not when they are in use, but rather when they are disposed of. Many of the products are very hard to properly dispose of. Energy consumption is certainly a problem. Especially when you spend all of your day on Facebook, twitter, and yes, Tumblr. If you can cut the computer usage down to the stuff you need to do, for work or school per say, then your energy bill could be much less. Even unplugging it when you aren't using it can help. It's similar to leaving on devices like Xbox and PlayStation when you aren't using them.

Computer makers are looking into making computers more environmentally friendly by making computer chips out of spider silk instead of silicon so that they decompose and pollute minimally.

This site has a lot of very eye opening facts that are easy to follow. These are very basic facts but they allow you to get a glimpse at what you use and what the nation uses. You can compare yourself to the kind of scary statistics.

Computer usage isn't a huge issue. Disposal and creation of electronics is much more harmful to the earth
