what would the case be for characters such as alphonse elric where they don't have physical bodies but rather bound to an "empty shell" which limbs fall off easily? would their partner feel the pain from something that isn't the character's actual physical body, and, if so, to what degree?

Hello, anon! An excellent question.

In the case of these scenarios, they would feel the pain somewhat, yes. It would not be as extreme as some other pairs, but it would definitely be noticeable. Say, if one normal pair feels the pain as the equivalent of getting punched in the face with steel gloves at full force, the person with a partner without a real body would feel the pain as the equivalent of getting punched with just a bare fist at full force.

So, it would hurt, but it would be less painful than if your partner had an actual body.

Hello!

There are unfortunately no mailboxes, or any real contact from the outside world. However, there are small mail slots in the room doors of each character, and should someone decide to drop something by or the Groundskeeper decides to give you a little gift, they’ll come through there and gather on the floor.

Quick question: if one were to, say, physically remove the limb that their mark is attached to, and survived the process, what would happen? Would the mark just materialize somewhere else?

Hello!

If you were remove the arm and survive the process, yes, the mark would relocate. Most likely to your other arm, unless you don’t have that either (oh boy), then it will relocate to your chest. It’s impossible to get rid of it, really, because even if you try and scratch it off it’ll simply appear over the wounds. 

If your character dies at a later time, then the limbs they lost in CC before would regrow and injuries would re-heal, and the mark would once again relocate to the arm it was originally on.
