This is a graph detailing the number of mass shootings that occurred in each state in 2018.

If your state is not listed here, that is because it did not have any mass shootings. Congrats to Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia! Here is a link to the data in a google doc, not in graph form.

This year there were:

340 mass shootings

56,695 shootings

14,577 deaths from shootings

and 28,133 injuries from shootings

I am not sure what to say at this point that hasn’t been said over and over again already. These numbers are astounding and gun violence in the Unites States has reached epidemic levels. The solution is clear- greater gun control, gun restrictions, ammunition control, and background checks on people who wish to purchase guns. Though I do not think that guns for personal use will ever be prohibited because of the Second Amendment, I think that people need to take a good, long look at what is important to them and their morals. What is more important to you? Guns or lives?

I could site a thousand sources for why gun control works but I know the people who disagree with me will not read them and the people who do agree with me do not need them so I will let the numbers speak for themselves. People are dying and they are dying at astronomical rates. You are now more likely to die by a gun than by a force of nature, than by a vehicle accident, than by police.

America has a problem and everybody knows the solution. Act up.

This is my second TFB song ever. This song has shards of my childhood-- the more chill, calm type of music my dad used to listen to (the little guitar bits) and the music my step-father listened to in the summer of 2016, which was practically the prime of my life. It gives me so many feelings-- the indescribable nastolgia from when I was a little kid, the distinct strange feelings I remember from the car on this one road we drove on to get to my mom's in 2016, the strange, choked up, "rose growing from your heart out of your mouth" feeling, and sadness. But most of all, happiness. This song reminds me of my characters, girlfriend, fandoms, friends, good memories with family, and I have every damn word memorized by heart. This song means a lot to me. The first time I heard it, for the first time in a week or so, I felt emotions other than bleak sadness. And for that, I thank this song, my girlfriend for recommending it to me, and @thefrontbottoms for writing it. This song is more important to me than I can really explain.

Im gonna vent all my stupid dumb frustrations out and maybe then ill finally be happy today before i go to bed.

-i miss my friends. theres books, but thats it. i miss darya, glen, and wolf. (no hate @ books or anything, youre super nice and youre my fren 💙)

-i miss my girlfriend. i cannot stress enough how much i miss that cute little thing. she makes me so damn happy that i,,,, um,,,, im at a loss for words? i guess i just,,,, i miss cuddles and hugs and all the smiles that have been there for so long that they hurt and burn but its ok bc im so happy im numb.

-i wanna use the swing. yeah, it sounds stupid and i sound like a four year old. but damn, it makes me so happy to listen to music and swing back and forth. someone broke it and now i cant until we can get it fixed, and hell knows how long thats gonna be.

-i wanna swim. i cant swim. i physically cannot. ive always wanted to know what it feels like to push through the water and not be scared because youre such a weak swimmer that youll fall and someday, no one will be there to pull you up.

-i wanna fly. now im just being unrealistic, but damn. if i could fly, i could see my friends. i could talk to my girlfriend in person. i wouldnt be crying in my messy ass room with a keyboard without its cord. if i could fly, i would be happy, because i wouldnt have to wait till however long its gonna take to finally see my friends again,,,, i could fly there and see them.

-id sell my soul to see all the people that i miss and books and be able to swing and swim and just,,, be happy with my friends and my kitty babies. but thats too much to ask, isnt it?
