I could catch bears with these traps..... but I don’t because I’m vegan and I actually respect life. People have a big misconception about vegans, they assume we think we are “better” than others because of this lifestyle but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Happy Vegan strong Thursday everyone! Here is a throwback to when little Lily first joined the Conscious Muscle rescue family! Lilly touched me so deeply on this day that I named my animal rescue after her and the sanctuaries name soon became 👉 @lilyandfriendsrescue . I remember taking care of this sweet baby and hand feeding her for the first few weeks of her life. For those of you who don’t know Lily's story here you have it. A good friend of mine @the_vegan_valkyrie_88 has connections in the farming/animal community and heard of a situation where a mama pig died and left quite a few baby pigs behind. Unfortunately the man who was in possession of these pigs viewed them as meat or simply commodities to be bought sold and traded so would not take the time to care for these babies one on one so he was just going to allow them to die if they were not adopted. Fortunately all of the babies were adopted including our Little Lily thanks to my amazing friend Hilda! For those of you keeping up with the sanctuary @lilyandfriendsrescue you can definitely see that Lily is no longer a little girl but a big ol piggy! She is only getting bigger and stronger by the day and we couldn’t be more blessed to have her in our lives. It breaks my heart to think little pigs like her as well as so many others are just left to die and treated like items to be bought, sold, traded and discarded. That being said I just wanted to send a big thank you to every single one of you for caring for animals like this and giving them a voice! I also wanted to send a special thanks to everyone who has contributed to the sanctuaries GoFundMe or Patreon account in turn helping me to give the best care possible to these animals and making the sanctuary expansion possible within the first few months of next year. happy vegan strong Sunday everyone! I just wanted to share some pictures with you from this morning while feeding and laying out bedding for all of the critters. We have a lot going on over here and even more to come so I’m reaching out for your help. As some of you know aside from the sanctuary I have now I’m looking to expand the property within the first few months of next year so we can do more in the way of rescuing animals including larger one such as cows, horses, donkeys and so on. We are tapped out for land right now and even so have a few projects in the works. For example this coming week we’re having a giant enclosure built for all of the birds to ensure they are safe from predators which is going to cost $1500, we’re taking an additional 12 chickens in from @gratitudegardenfarm so we want to make sure to give them as well as our chickies, turkeys and ducks the best life possible which also means keeping them protected from natural predators. So aside from projects like this I’m really pushing to do the expansion as soon as possible and I need your help! Everything helps both big and small and even if you can’t donate spreading the campaign makes a world of difference.
