ooc; hey, I know it feels like I've abandoned yet another writing blog but I assure you that is not the case. I'm getting situated at a new job currently, which is the good transition. In the process of moving, which is the neutral transition. And, unfortunately, have had a few personal events happen outside of my control that keep me less active in this space. I really want to return and write and really enjoy writing, but currently, writing is not my best escape. And I recognize that. I don't want to give folks half-hearted replies, and I don't want to force myself to write in a way that I may resent or regret later due to personal things affecting how I play a character.
Please know that I'm still so excited to watch other people write on my dash and you're all doing fantastic. Watching the storytelling on my dash has really don't good for my psyche in the past few days. Thank you all. Hope to be back soon.

@matriarchology (eclipsa) said: “Isn’t that the very definition of power? Watching people kill themselves over something that means nothing to you?”
Lilith bristled at her Empress's words. At first, it was only an eerie shiver, only a strange feeling washing over her as the words sunk in. But then it was clicking. It was making sense. Lilith turned, taking Eclipsa in with almost imploring eyes, like she wanted more. Like she needed Eclipsa to say more.
Eclipsa understood.
"I--" She begins, but no words of her own would be suitable for the situation. Lilith looks down, no longer able to keep Eclipsa's gaze. It is all too familiar, Lilith realizes.
Emperor Belos was the sort to watch Lilith flounder and struggle and fight for something that meant so little to him. He could tell her to jump, she could ask how high, and he'd raise the bar so far that she would exhaust herself in the process of trying to reach his expectations. And while Lilith wished she could be noble and say it was all for her sister... she knew that wasn't true. And from what she could see in Eclipsa, even the Empress knew it was a lie.
Trying to compose herself once more, Lilith's answers, wryly, "I can't say that you're wrong, Empress Eclipsa."

Conversation
Eda: "Ladies and gentlemen" is unnecessarily gendered, overly formal, lengthy, and honestly I'm falling asleep already.
Eda: "Cowards", on the other hand, is inclusive to all genders, casual and fun, short and to the point, exciting, and dramatic.

ooc; What’s this? Tam survived exams? Tam’s almost back from family celebration of a sibling’s graduation? Interesting... wonder what that has in store.
Sorry for being gone, but my university grades made it worth it.

musamulta:
It really was nice to be able to sort of… experience things through the lens of another. To see her eyes light up and have a chance to experience things anew, himself.
“Well, good then, we’ll get to work on that. Might reach out in to Scotland and Wales, if you’d like. Though, Ireland’s got some interesting spots, as well, both parts of it. Plenty of history.” Gods, this list really could get long. “First, I think, we need to get you settled in. That’s probably the best way to plan, as well. I’ve got a nice place, spare room. Some interesting books there, too, if you’d like to take a look. Old ones— though most of my antiques are kept elsewhere.”
She’s like a child. At least, in her excitement she is. Mary looks around the streets once more, loathe to leave them, even momentarily. She does, however, pull herself away and put her full attention on Jaskier once more. “Okay, settling. That’s a good idea.” She’s practically buzzing with excitement. “Sorry. I’m just-- it’s been so long since I’ve been somewhere else. It’s thrilling. Everything in Greendale feels so small compared to here,” Mary muses.
“It’s so kind of you to take me, Jaskier. I have to admit, I think our unlikely friendship has really become a light in my life.”

“Did you ever notice that when you step on a person’s foot, they usually open their mouths? You know. Like a trash can?”
* “Edalyn, please.” Lilith frowns, crosses her arms, runs the front of her shoes against the carpet like the pressure would alleviate the slight pain in her toes. “The correct answer is ‘I’m sorry Lily for running over your foot,’ or something similar.”

kikimaenia:
——— Kikimora actually was looking forward to getting her nails done… considering she had more of them than average, when you count her claws and the hands on her head. “It seems like…”
“Oh, no, not at all.” Frederic cheerily chimes in, again. “I’ve gotten a hot-tub installed, and rented some massage chairs. Then, there’s mud masks, and fancy soaps… you would not believe the gift baskets I put together, too!”
Lilith thinks she could laugh. This whole situation was ridiculous. If there were such a thing as taxes, Lilith imagines that the people of Bonesborough wouldn’t be happy to hear how their money was being spent.
“That’s some business expense,” Lilith says, deadened. “But, I suppose it benefits. Mud masks... fancy soaps...” But Lilith thinks more on all of this. As much as she didn’t want to spend this day off, it was a day off. And members of the Coven only got one day off. “Okay, okay. Let’s do this then,” Lilith says. “Maybe we’ll see if there’s any hair care involved. My hair seems to have been suffering some damage with... with the way I treat it.” The dyes. The dark blue. “Well, that’s settled. Let’s head to your... lab, then.”

viciousgold:
Marisa was in charge of two things at Baxter High. One was a physics class, something she enjoyed teaching and excelled at. Another was a more unexpected thing for her, coaching cheerleading. Students were doing well in her physics class, as almost all of her students were achieving extremely high grades. Her cheerleaders were also acting as a unit, a well oiled machine. Both were due to her somewhat unconventional teaching methods.
“Complaints?” she asked Lilith curiously, surprise in her tone. “Such as…?”
Sure, she had students run laps if they were disrespectful, or had them do extremely difficult or humiliating tasks for extra credit if they were failing a huge test or assignment. Sure, she had blackmail on some of the faculty to use against them if they went against her. Sure, she tormented a bully psychologically and made him regret ever speaking. He deserved that, and besides, it’s not like she was beating them with rulers or something.

“From my understanding, I’ve had outstanding results.”

* “The paperwork,” Lilith begins, not quite arguing yet not agreeing either, “indicates as such, Marisa. The complaints, however, mean that I have to at least have some conference about all of this.”
Which is Lilith’s least favorite part of this job. She could sit in a room and speak to parents all day. She could sit in a room and admonish or encourage students. She could even sit down with both at the same time and hold a good conversation -- trying to be just in her determinations. However, it was when she had to meet with her own faculty that things got a bit messy. And Lilith didn’t appreciate that part of her job.
“It seems that the complaints are about your methods. Which, I must say, I understand are quite unconventional. Could you, please, describe your methodology Mrs Coulter? I know that it’s quite a basic question, and I’d rather not have to be asking, but here we are.”
