Aaaaaaaaand this is why I left 😭 saddest love story that never happened and I hate it here but I love it too.
More directly, maybe I don’t like bbc? The writers were incredible, they brought every story to life, each red herring was placed so perfectly well…😪 I miss it. You get shows like Sherlock once every blue moon. Johnlock was definitely the icing but I am still so disappointed because we, as a society, should be farther along. It could have happened.
There was no logistical reason why Sherlock and John couldn’t have been together. The only idea I would have is the stuffy, “It just wouldn’t look right” 😑 and it pisses me off each time.
How do yall do it?

Even though BBC Sherlock ended like 6-7 years ago, and I just started watching the show. I made like two post about Johnlock and people are like welcome to this hellhole or it gets worse.

I’ll hold onto my theory that the writers wanted to go in our direction and were told no 😶

7 times John and Sherlock were unnecessarily close to each other I wanted to do 5, but I couldn't decide. So, now there are 7. Please send complaints into my inbox. 😇
Also, it's sad how this closeness kind of stopped after TRF. I quickly skimmed through S3 and 4, but nothing really.

Unfortunately you guys, I didn’t see the entire text block, just the portion of “Anyway, I’m done”, so my previous statement was wrong.
Also, I did notice something you stated as wrong. I never stated you were coming for me, I said “You came to me.” So quote me correctly there. I don’t feel attacked, I am not being attacked. The wording there makes a difference.
Anyway, I don’t necessarily understand, from a person who’s been here since 2012, why we need to go starting debates over a post made from someone coming back after 5 years. I wanted to give my theory.
You’re also extremely emotional about Adlock and I never said I disliked it. You’re just irritating me because you’re coming at this from a highly emotional place. It is my theory and it still stands. We will never know what actually happened between Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat, and the BBC Network.
For all we know, Mark Gatiss wanted Sherlock Holmes to be gay (given the pilot and the odd lines that cis men wouldn’t normally say to each other or other people about their male friend).
I don’t know and neither do you. You love Adlock and I enjoy your tenacity but the emotion here is too high and too strong because you’re coming at me as if I were one of those people “invalidating” you.
“Don’t change our moments to validate yours.”
“Don’t invalidate our moments.”
I am not them.
This entire time you never stated any agreement towards the parallel of Mrs. H and Irene but now it’s “Didn’t you notice I never disagreed…?”
No. I didn’t notice. You were very busy shoving Adlock down peoples’ throats so they wouldn’t invalidate your moments. Although you did say Sherlock checking Irene’s pulse was not the same as Mrs. H so I’m not sure how I was supposed to come to that conclusion (that was in your first reply to me, if you wanted that information).
I apologize because I was not taking your posts seriously. You reminded me of the s3/s4 days when I showed up, the chaos of “No this is what it means!”/“No, that’s what it means!” And so I misconstrued some things. Hopefully I’ve cleared it up for you.
Other than that, I never said I disliked Adlock. I wanted to make my claims and you decided to reply to a post that you were originally going to ignore.
Again, I’m not them.
Have a lovely day. Enjoy your Adlock.
Alright back to the end of ASiB:
“Jim Moriarty sends his love.”
Sherlock figures it out here, what the password to Irene’s phone is.
Irene scoffs and says “Look at the poor man. You don’t think I was actually interested in you? Why, because you’re the great Sherlock Holmes in the funny hat?
Sherlock says, “No”, it’s because he took her pulse. “Elevated and pupils dilated”. Yet, I know this was comparable to when he checked Mrs. Hudson after she was attacked by the Americans.
But. She and Sherlock both knew she was fine (when John suggested she leave for her wellbeing). And while I know Mrs. Hudson took a hit to the face and was dragged upstairs, maybe she was excited because she knew 1) She had the phone, 2) Sherlock was going to help and, 3) She had to put on her best performance
Let’s not forget how Sherlock met Mrs. Hudson and how her entire character is capable and lenient towards caring for Sherlock and John’s antics—she ain’t normal, she also did donuts in series 4. We don’t mess with Mrs. H.
So it’s possible Sherlock put two and two together and figured, after Irene got cocky and stated “Jim Moriarty sends his love” and continued on about him being the best “consulting criminal” and being her “kind of man”, that Irene was hiding something for Moriarty, something important.
And maybe, just maybe: Irene was to Moriarty what Mrs. Hudson was to Sherlock (the antithesis of consulting detective vs. consulting criminal)
Irene was acting JUST like Mrs. Hudson was.
“I’d imagine John Watson thinks love is a mystery to me but the chemistry is incredibly simple and destructive.”
To me, I believe he’s talking about Moriarty.
Why?
Sherlock also mentions Irene’s measurements again, how when they met she told him a disguise is a self portrait: but she was naked, a blank canvas. She didn’t put her feelings into anything which was why “It wasn’t real”. She was moving exactly as Moriarty wanted her to, which is why Sherlock mentions the intimacy and sentiment of the password:
Irene does not understand because she did not set the password: she allowed someone else control over her life, her heart (the phone) and it ruled her head (the power got to her head, as Sherlock states—she got too excited, moved too far ahead of herself by simply stating Moriarty sent his love, i.e. his obsession of Sherlock, i.e. “Sherlocked”—she is merely a hand to hold the phone, but the phone is her life—that’s where she messed up. She put too much at risk “on the losing side” because Moriarty cares more about Sherlock than Irene ever would.
Just like Mrs. Hudson was a hand to hold the phone and was also Sherlock’s experiment to test her pulse,
Irene becomes the mirror or antithesis to Mrs. Hudson because, unlike Mrs. H, Irene is cocky. Unlike Sherlock, Moriarty’s motivation is excitement and shock and whatever fascination he has for Sherlock.
Sherlock recognizes the same play he did with Mrs. Hudson only 30 minutes before in the episode and reacts accordingly.
“Jim Moriarty sends his love” ≠ Irene loves Sherlock.
P.S: Right after Irene is officially introduced, after she says on the phone “I think it’s time, don’t you?”, Mrs. Hudson is shown in the next scene, if we’re looking for mirrors

Oh you’re gonna get the last word because I made the point that John’s love is more potent than Irene’s mere fascination?
Okay, I’m done too. I’ve also said my part.

Okayyyy here’s the thing: I said I’m coming back after 5 years. I’m not sure what you mean by Johnlockers not being fair to Adlockers because 👀 read the first sentence again.
I didn’t come to you, you came to me. Whatever beef you’ve got with someone who told you that Adlock isn’t real, that’s with them.
What appears obvious to me, coming back after FIVE years is:
1) Irene utilized a power play to get John and Sherlock to react to each other emotionally
2) Mrs. Hudson is a good actress because I forgot she had the damn phone when the Americans attacked
3) Irene just may be attracted to Sherlock but she’s emotionless overall, it’s all about what she wants. They both like the challenge, that was Sherlock’s MO for a long time and why John thought he was insane for entertaining Moriarty in TGG
4) If she was working for Moriarty, wasn’t Mrs. Hudson just doing the same thing for Sherlock, but the mirror surrounds THIS ONE PHONE which is why I ran to tumblr
And you came onto my post telling me what’s unfair.
If you got your information from the commentary from the actors on Sherlock, that’s good.
I think what people are trying to say is Irene’s love is nothing compared to John’s. At least to a point because I don’t like that the writers had John put his hands on Sherlock, but that was their choice for dramatic effect or whatever.
But before the conflict, John was willing to die for Sherlock. He stuck to Sherlock like glue to the point it cured a psychosomatic limp.
He was fascinated with the man, complimented him at every turn, defended him at EVERY TURN. He even asked the man if had a bf or gf, whatever his reasons were, but he still stuck by his side when he found out Sherlock was married to his work. John still tried to care for Sherlock where he could
His love does not compare to Irene’s fascination. Both Irene and John love Sherlock’s brain for different reasons and even Sherlock tells Irene not to bother with the compliments because they won’t mean a thing since John has told him in every way imaginable.
So maybe I can see where Johnlockers are coming from since you had to come onto my post with information I didn’t ask for
Also the gifset: thank you for explaining because I was not about the take the time to investigate 🤣

Still not explaining how “Jim Moriarty sends his love.” Ended with “Irene loves Sherlock”. Are you saying because she used the word “love”, she’s using it subconsciously for herself?
Also bb I don’t dislike Adlock, I just rewatched the episode after like 5 years and realized Irene could be a mirror for Mrs. H and that John overreacted wayyy too much for a claimed cis male.
I was watching the conclusion and said to myself, “I mean it seems like she could be into him,” but then I was reminded of Mrs. Hudson after Irene went on about Moriarty, the consulting criminal—the antithesis to the consulting detective and figured perhaps Irene was a distraction, just like Mrs. H was.
Her “self portrait” when they first met was nude. Nothing. Zilch. Anyone can put anything onto her to make her what they need her to be. As much as she is a dominantrix, she’s also become quite submissive: is this over Sherlock or is it over Moriarty?
I mean, I’ve never understood the whole Irene loves Sherlock. Maybe she grew some attraction that surprised her but it seems it was all mental attraction, “brainy is the new sexy”, I thought they impressed each other
But she is so dismissive towards Sherlock, she laughs at his stupidity (when they first meet), she beats him for her phone (but it’s her life, I know), drugs him (not in that order), manipulates John so he’ll be suspicious over how much she and Sherlock are talking, let him assume she was dead, held the secret that she was Moriarty’s honeypot, dismissed Sherlock more once they were on the plane (walked right by him towards Mycroft), and even stated Moriarty was her kind of man and she’d been trying to figure out how to “play the Holmes boys”, and he gave her that information.
I mean, she is a dominatrix. If I were one, I wouldn’t give a shit about Sherlock or John, I’d just have fun to get what I wanted. Because I’d know I had all the power. She used Sherlock to get all her answers and even said, irritatedly that he took “6 months” to figure it out.
But sure, she has feelings for Sherlock somewhere in here. The only way I thought, maybe, was when he figured out her password. When he told her he felt her pulse, she appeared to be breathless, aroused even. But only when Sherlock is of use, when he’s utilizing his brain, when he can solve the issue—is the only time Irene shows any attention towards him, so it goes to show the types of relationships you like.
Anyway,
If you can explain to me why Irene saying, “Jim Moriarty sends his love.” Stirred Sherlock so much that he figured out, in that moment, what he could not in 6 months dealing with Irene alone, then maybe I’ll stop talking.
Also brooooo is your cover photo a gif of John saying “I am not gay”????? Ppfffffffttttttt 🤣 okay. I’m not gay either lmfaooooo
(Btw I am bi, currently engaged to a cis male. I asked HIM would he ever speak to his best friend the way John treated Sherlock about the texts, Irene’s measurements, and even her “somebody loves you” comment. His answer was a no. But that was a quick research question, I’ll ask more cis men, don’t you worry.)

Side Note To Fan Fic Authors
Here’s the thing.
I read a lot of scripts.  A lot.  From professionals to aspiring writers to complete newbies.  Features and pilots.  Specs and treatments.
And 8 times out of 10 the fan fic that I’ve read over the last, oh, 15 years is leagues better than this stuff.  It’s more inspired.  It’s more compelling.  It’s genre bending and creative and heartfelt.  It’s well-paced and intense and funny and sexy and meaningful.  It’s smart and thoughtful and good.  It’s novel-quality.  Better than, sometimes.
Rare is the script I don’t want to put down, but how often have we stayed up until 3am to get to the last chapter of a 100k fic? And it’s not even a fan fic author’s day job.  This is what they do on the side.  In their spare time.  For free.
So my point is, fan fic authors, you’re good.  You’re good writers and great storytellers.  I know it doesn’t always feel like it, especially if you’re one of the authors who’s not a BNF and doesn’t get the notes/hits that a few do.  And  because some people still view fic as “not real writing.” You guys know the shit that gets made into movies.  You’re better than that.  So be better than that.  If writing is what you think want to do, then just know you’re already doing it.   You’ve already started.
And you’re more talented than you might think.

Oh my gosh the “Welcome back” is the icing on the effin caaaaakeeee 😭🤣
I tried to delete this blog like a bad habit and I failed after watching ASiB…
And
Ms. Dominatrix over here is introduced and when Sherlock realizes she’s holding onto the photos and informing people in power, she’s utilizing it as “a power play”, correct?
Then there’s the “Somebody loves you” comment but that’s too obvious, right?
What about this bih sitting in the window utilizing ANOTHER POWER PLAY with the “my measurements” line
Because: She knows Sherlock is inexperienced, she knows John cares about Sherlock. She actively tried to use a power play move to get them to react to each other, to get one of them to make a move.
And John definitely reacted by:
1. Even asking his assumed cis male friend why a female is texting him so many times
2. Counting all 57 of those texts
3. Reacting to “my measurements” as an assumed cis male lmfaooo
4. Screaming at said woman “You’ve texted him a lot”
5. Asking Sherlock, “Do you ever reply back?”
6. Projected by assuming Sherlock just wanted Irene and that’s why he was “playing sad music”, and not simply because the DETECTIVE COULDNT SOLVE THE FUCKING MYSTERY OR WHATEVER nahh it just HAD TO BE ABOUT SOME PUNANNI
I WILL GO DOWN BELIEVING THAT PASSWORD WAS SET BY MORIARTY TO BETTER CONTROL IRENE WHICH IS WHY SHE WAS “Only playing the game” cos once she lost, that was lights out for her, hence the tears and her pulse.
Hence Sherlock saving her because he’s not heartless.
Anyway, thank you for coming to my 57th ASiB TedTalk. Thrilling that I’ve been counting 🤣✨
