honestly? i have never identified more with a character on tv than the the way i have with isaac henderson.

i have never felt more seen and understood in a tv show, let alone most media itself. i find it incredibly comforting to have this representation shown to such a wide audience within an incredibly popular show.

as a young aroace-spec person, i have read so many books with characters like me, but have yet to see the same level of representation with visual and audio aspects as well. hearing and seeing his experiences play out just makes everything feel so much more real. i feel so much more seen. i feel better understood.

and there are so many other aspects of isaac i identify with, too. i have never had this before…

I think people who consider aromanticism as "basically straight" underestimate how noticeable absence can be to those around you.

Whether you're a kid in school with classmates who won't take "no one" as an answer to who you have a crush on or an adult whose coworkers have picked up on the fact that you've never mentioned a romantic partner; after enough time, a lack or insufficient amount of romantic interest will raise the antennae of friends, family, coworkers, etc... They will notice and they will speculate and they will ask.

It is impossible to meet the societal bar for straightness through inaction.

im considering premed. i’ve just finished my second year of college majoring in biomedical engineering. and i’ve kind of been considering premed and med school to become an allergist (i have food allergies and would love to help other people)

but i have no idea what im doing and no idea how to get started and no idea how much schooling, time, money it would take.
