Chibnall's writing was terrible; I will not budge on this. We should have had amazing stories but we got bland companions, Toothface, a frog in a chair, goofy crystal Skeletors, and the Timeless Child. There were elements that could have worked under more talented hands, but those hands didn't belong to Chibnall. At least he gave us the Fugitive Doctor, who is brilliant, and Whittaker's Doctor and Yaz are getting more stories at Big Finish, so there's that. The Thirteenth Doctor comics from Titan Comics were good as well.
We never even got an exploring the TARDIS interior episode from either Doctor, which I will forever be mad about.....😔

The first Black male Doctor and the first female Doctor: both plagued by terrible writing, inconsistent characterisation (or barely any at all), shortened runs, and they regenerated into actors from a more popular era of the show (David Tennant and Billie Piper).
They deserved better.

I know some of you will be mad at this and that’s okay. This is from my experience. This may not make sense I’m writing this while I’m fired up.
I’ve never felt more like a queer black doctor who fan than I did watching the reality war.
I need to profane this by saying usually I love doctor who, this season has had its flawed but over all it’s been good but this episode genuinely made me so angry and I know it’s different for other fans because im watch everyone disregard how awfully they just butchered Belinda, a brown woman, because they got a scene with Thirteen and Billie is coming back. And don’t get me wrong I’m excited that those things happened too, Thirteenth got some time to shine outside of her season which has the stain of bad writing AND we got a Thasmine reference. I’m not trying to shit on those people for enjoying those moments they were there to be enjoyed.
However I can’t shake the fact I’ve never felt such a blatant disregard of a companion, I’ve never seen a visual representation of what the writer thinks of women of color like this before, quite literally hide them away, take away her hopes, dreams and her literal job to focus on this child, leave the action to the others (who have already had their time). And as a queer person seeing this OUT-LOUD, UNABASHEDLY, OBVIOUSLY QUEER doctor being shoved into this heteronormative narrative when he was given a love interest was genuinely sickening especially when Belinda showed no signs of being into the doctor in any way.
Belinda literally felt stripped down and so basic. The doctor didn’t feel like the doctor especially with his interaction with Ruby near the end. Both of them just felt like plot points to move along to get to the juicier sections of the episode (Jodie and Billie), the doctor, the rani and Belinda all felt so hollow.
I don’t know how to properly describe this next part but when you grow up a poc you can sort of see/feel racism when others can’t and for me this episode felt dipped in it. It left such a bad feeling in my throat, it felt like the writers wrote a letter to poc telling us this is all they think of us. I’ve never felt so much rage watching an episode before and I mean visceral anger at a characters treatment or the blatant racism.
So sincerely to whoever wrote that episode, fuck you.
- a tired black queer doctor who fan

The Iced Latte of Rassilon
no, it's simple. when you're on gallifrey, you have to put 'of rassilon' after every noun, or they kill you with lasers

the song "summer is a curse" by the faim fits the doctor so well omg
Hearts don't bleed like mine All we need is time The summer is a curse and I can't let go If you never try then you'll never know A broke city with a broken heart Summer is a curse and we fall apart
... to only quote a part of it. it's so about the doctor meeting people, loving them, losing them, feeling all the pain but still doing it all again. their big hearts are a curse but they can't help it.
and the chorus makes me think of this moment in hell bent:
ashildr: "because we know summer can't last forever." the doctor: "of course it can. you just have to steal a time machine."

If you liked her run more power to you. But it wasn't the best in my opinion. It had nothing to do with her being female 🤷🏾

#Chibnall's era was TRASH and I will die on that hill#Jodie Whittaker herself was blameless and she did the best she could with the material she was given#but go off i guess

The barber wasn't even a god: he worked for them.

okay so idk how to really articulate my thoughts on this but this thumbnail feels really Strange to me.
Story and the Engine is one of my favorite episodes and I love it, but this thumbnail in the context that the episode is
Being a very black story set in Nigeria rooted in folklore and mythology, with the biggest ties of the episode being to the African mythos more than anything else. With the shape of the Engine being a spider, Anansi and his daughter, the usage of braids in the climax...
Why is Loki the god (or Only God) out of the plethora of ones mentioned in this sequence, especially one who has very little to do with the story as a whole?
Thinking on it i know this was definitely for marketing and thumbnail clicks because more people are gonna recognize Loki from the Disney and Marvel of it all
Idk this thumbnail just weirds me out a little for putting an, effectively, irrelevant god to the story's setting front and center on this thumbnail. Maybe someone can articulate this better for me?
