So, uhm, the little one was a little adventurous with her food this trip... She ordered all kinds of surprising things and liked them. That included this deep fried fish at Jungle Navigation company Ltd Skipper Canteen in MK (#glutenfree and #dairyfree btw) and the escargot she had on the cruise ship. 🐌 #DisneyCreators #DisneyParks #hosted⁣ ⁣ When Munchkin was young, we had a pretty simple rule. She didn’t have to like everything but she did have to take at least one bite and try it. And, if it was a meal that I regularly made but she wasn’t super fond of, I would let her add some input to make it more appealing to her. For example, she didn’t like spaghetti so I always let her pick what type of noodles we used. (To this day, we never use regular spaghetti noodles but, rather, use spiral/fusilli/rotini.)⁣ ⁣ While her tastes have changed over the years, that one principle of trying everything at least once has really broadened her approach to the world of food. She’s not afraid of trying exotic things, spicy dishes, new flavors, or different types of international cuisine. She’ll even say yes when they offer to put pepper on everything at restaurants. In fact, her new favorite snack is freshly pressed garlic with pepper and olive oil over goat cheese. We had to ban her from that, though, because she reeked of garlic the rest of day 🧄⁣ ⁣ Anyway, it was so interesting to see our daughter be so uninhibited with her food on this trip. Shocking at times, but still interesting. Guess she’s still going to keep us entertained even in her new adulthood phase.⁣ ⁣ #cuisine #foodie #parenting #parenthood

As I lay here sick in bed (thus my sudden disappearance online), it dawned on me that I should finally catch up on posting photos from the #DisneyCreators event. ���� #DisneyParks #hosted With that in mind, I’m going to back up a few days to when we were still in the parks.⁣ ⁣ This selfie taken by a Disney PhotoPass photographer was too awesome to not share. While Memory Maker is fantastic, I love the fact that PhotoPass photographers will also take photos with personal mobile phones. Not everyone has an extra $199 ($169 if you pre-order) to spare, especially after paying for travel, lodging, park tickets, and food. Had to go to San Francisco today for an appointment. But, no trip to the city is complete without first stopping in Chinatown to pick up something to eat!⁣ ⁣ We always go to Eastern Bakery on Grant Street to get cocktail buns, pork buns, pork dumplings, sweet rice cakes, Chinese tamales, their AMAZING coffee crunch cake (though we can't eat it anymore because of food allergies), and much more. While there isn’t as much water in the parks as we near winter, Bridalveil Fall never disappoints. Spent another gorgeous day in Yosemite today! We walked up to Bridalveil Fall, ate lunch in our car while trying to spot climbers on El Capitan (using binoculars), hiked to Mirror Lake (which happened to be bone dry since it’s not the right season), took a gazillion photos (the wide angle lens on the iPhone 11 is amazing for landscapes), and watched the sunset from Tunnel View (such pretty colors).⁣ ⁣ On a side note, I found out today just how awesome the remote camera app on Apple Watch is!!! We didn’t have to ask strangers to take photos of our family AND almost all of them turned out great!⁣ ⁣ #yosemite #yosemitenationalpark #nationalparks #familyphotos

It’s been ages since we last took a proper road trip! We’re headed to Yosemite for a couple of days to visit some of our favorite photo spots and maybe discover some new ones. I hope foliage in the valley is as pretty what we saw in a city near the south entrance.⁣ ⁣ It will also be the first time we’re staying at @yosemite_rushcreek! We've only been back for a few weeks and we're already missing the islands. One of the things we did while on Kauai was go to the Smith Family Garden Luau. The grounds were beautiful, food was delicious (Frans could actually eat there #celiac), and the show was impressive. Our resort was only a few minutes away from #spoutinghorn. But, it wasn't until the very end of our trip that we were finally able to take time out to drive here.⁣ ⁣ This was not the first time was saw a blowhole (we visited one in Oahu) but this one sprayed so high and it made such a cool echoing "horn" sound as the ocean waves rushed through the hollow lava tube. So relaxing to just stand here and enjoy the view.⁣ ⁣ Oh, and we loved the cute little booths set up along walkway to the outlook. Munchkin and I found a couple of nice necklaces and we were thhhiiiissss close to getting a bamboo wind chime (until we thought about how much it would irk our neighbors after a while). #kauaihawaii #kauailife #oceanlove

As we made our way to Waimea, our friends pulled over to show us this little hidden gem. With so much greenery on the island, it's easy to forget that it's actually covered with this red dirt (that's next to impossible to wash out). Remind me to ask them where this spot can be found so I can tell you about it 😉 #kauaihawaii #waterfalls

Coffee tasting. 😝☕️ When in Kauai, you must drink some @kauaicoffeeco at some point of your visit. The brews are a bit milder than what Frans prefers but I liked the flavored ones liked Caramel Coconut and Banana Macadamia. Even Muchkin kept filling her tasting cup as she tried the dozens of flavors on display. BTW, the photo was my friend's idea 😬💡 #coffeetime☕ #coffeetasting #kauaihawaii
