While we're on the subject of character's kids looking like someone, please remember:

Rachel Summers canonically looks like Scott Summers but with Jean's hair and eyes (and whichever one of you little motherfuckers took that off the notes on her character wiki while I was trying to find the source, fess up and return it). It's something Jean said and, this was hinted at a lot, the fact that some people don't realize it.

They just see red hair, green/blue/grey take your fucking pick the writers just give them whatever color they want, and think Jean Grey. They don't see Scott Summers because they can only see part of his face, his visor covers his eyes and it's big and clunky that it takes up most of his face

Jean sees his face bare the most and she's the one who comments on it (I think, someone took my fucking source. I'm fine. I'm cool.) and it's a simple way to just remind you of their love for each other and all the private moments they do have with each other.

When Rachel shows up in '97 and at first is ready to kill these two randos, only to have them introduce themselves as her freaking parents, I wonder what was going through her head?

Was she prepared to introduce herself with her actual name only to then be like "nope not touching that, we'll just go with Mother Askani for now. Oh shit, Nathan's back, how am I going to explain any of this???"

Mannn the reload period was not kind to Rachel like ur mom dies again, ur dad gets with the lady he cheated on her with and then u get turned into a dinosaur in the savage land then u come back and see that ur gf hooked up with her ex while u were gone and then everything goes to shit cause the decimation and suddenly sentinels are everywhere and the icing on the cake is ur whole family gets murdered

Saying that Rachel and Betsy shouldn't date because Betsy used to have a crush on Rachel's alternate universe father is like saying Rachel and Kurt shouldn't have dated because Rachel was best friends with his alternate universe daughter.
