Why Every Utah Home Needs a Home Theater
Tumblr media
Utah is known for its outdoor attractions. From the “Greatest Snow on Earth” of Northern and Central Utah to the red rocks of Southern Utah, homeowners throughout the state can experience everything the outdoors has to offer. However, most Utahans know that every once in a while, it is nice to take a break.
Whether it’s after a great ski day or during the hot summer months, taking time to relax is what Utah residents do best. What better way to take time inside your Utah home than in a nice, cool, and comfortable home theater?
Here’s how a home theater will benefit your family.
Spend Time As a Family
Watching a movie as a family is a wonderful way to spend quality time. Laughing, crying, and enjoying a family-friendly flick inside your own home theater will bring you together as a family. You can make memories together and even make family movie night a weekly tradition. Plus, you have the added benefit of pausing movies as you please or even watching Netflix, Hulu, or your favorite television show.
Become the Hit of the Neighborhood
If there is something a neighborhood kid likes, it is hanging out at a friend’s house that is cool and fun. Your home theater can transform your home into that favorite neighborhood kid hang out spot. This is an excellent way for your kids to get to know other kids and have something to do whenever the weather isn’t cooperating.
Enjoy the Full Cinematic Experience
The goal of any good home theater set up is to let you enjoy the entire cinematic experience. Usually, when you watch a movie in an average room setup, you are surrounded by hundreds of distractions. From what’s happening in the room next door to the doorbell ringing, getting a home theater will eliminate distractions and let you fully immerse yourself.

Dry Cleaning Tips Every Utah Resident Needs to Know
Tumblr media
Across the state of Utah, people are looking for ways that they can improve their laundering techniques. Whether it’s through dry cleaning or on your own, it’s crucial that you properly clean to maintain the integrity of your items. Village Cleaners in Sandy compiled a list of the top tips they give their customers. Check it out.
1.    Time is Crucial in Stain Fighting
Stains happen all the time. The key to fighting them is treating them quickly. Waiting to treat a stain decreases your chances of getting it out. The longer you wait to handle your stains, the less of a chance you can remove it. Make sure to treat your stains ASAP. However, when a stain sits for a long time, or you have a hard time getting it out, visit with your dry cleaner. Fortunately, they can treat even the most impossible of stains.
2.    Your Household Items Need Love Too
Many fabric household items don’t receive the time and attention they need. Take care of your household furnishings by cleaning them regularly. Just as you wash your carpets once to twice a year, you should be doing the same for your couches and drapery. From draperies to bedspreads, dry cleaners can handle your household items with the same attention to quality and care that your clothes receive.
3.    Wash Your Winter Clothes
Utah is notoriously known for their winter weather and snow. However, many locals don’t know whether they should wash their winter clothes or how often. Listen up Utah residents—cleaning your winter outerwear periodically can actually help maintain its ability to keep you warm and keep the water out.
Ski clothes are made of technical fabrics that require unique washing methods including a different detergent and fabric softener. If you wash it using regular cleaning methods, then the chemicals could break down the integrity of the clothes. Whether you need to clean your base layers or your down winter coat, there are a few techniques you should use when washing your winter clothes.
Here’s how you should modify your regular washing methods depending on the fabric:
-    Down Winter Wear: Run it through the wash a second time without detergent and throw in a few tennis balls while drying.
-    Synthetic Insulation: Use a specialized detergent designed for the synthetic material. When drying, set it on the lowest heat setting to keep the material fluffy.
-    Water Replant Clothing: Machine-wash as described on the tag and air dry. Once dry, throw it in the dryer for 20-minutes on the lowest heat setting.
-    Wool Base Layers: Use wool-friendly liquid detergent, avoid fabric softener, and wash with similar fabrics.
4.    Stop Overusing Bleach
Many Utah dry-cleaning customers tell our store managers that they often throw in bleach with their load of whites. While this seems to help boost the whiteness of your clothes, it can break down the material much faster. That’s why we recommend using bleach purely for spot treatments.
5.    Air Drying is Your Friend
Many people believe that washing in cold water is the best way to decrease shrinkage. This isn’t the case. Shrinkage occurs during the drying portion. Your best chance is to hang dry your items, instead. When in doubt, opt for air drying or hang drying your clothing.
6.    Find a Professional
Having a nearby dry-cleaning professional is one of the best ways you can improve your laundering technique. Whether you need help with your delicate, ‘dry clean only’ items or need something cleaned quickly, dry cleaners should be at the top of every Utah residents list. Visit https://www.villagecleaners.com/location/sandy-dry-cleaners/ to learn more about our dry-cleaning and laundering services.

All Your Residential Glass Questions Answered
Tumblr media
Being a homeowner includes checking in on the efficiency of your home. Whether you are buying, selling, or updating your home, window replacement is near the top of every homeowner’s list of to-do’s. But many are confused on some of the most critical points. Working with the residential glass experts, Sawyer Glass from Salt Lake City, Utah, we’ve compiled answers to the most asked questions. Here’s what you need to know.
How Often Should I Replace My Home Windows?
There are many factors at play. High-quality and well-maintained windows could last more than 20 years, but that isn’t always the case. Depending on the place you live and the conditions they are under, you could need replacement residential glass sooner rather than later. For Utah residents, your home is under an unusually high amount of strain.
Windows in Utah homes typically experience four seasons. From the harsh conditions of winter contrasted with the heat blasting inside the house to the damage caused during the summer months, SLC homeowners might need to replace their windows more often than expected.
Northern and Central Utah are known for their mixed climates. That’s why we suggest choosing windows that can handle all seasons. Most of those include windows with a lower U-factor. The lower the U-factor, the less heat is transmitted. These windows will maximize solar heating and cooling gains and minimize any loss.
Do I Need to Replace All My Residential Windows At Once?
Many companies will boast that their windows last 25 years, but in truth, some can last even longer. However, there is no short answer to how often you should replace your windows. It all depends on the age of the residential glass, the material used, and the actual condition of each window. The older your home is, the more likely it is that your windows are less efficient than they could be.
Some of the questions you should ask yourself to determine if you should replace your residential glass include:
•    Are my windows damaged, broken, or cracked?
•    Has my energy bill increased over the past year?
•    Are you selling your home any time soon?
•    Does my house need a design update?
•    Has your home been in a severe storm?
•    Is there any water leakage?
•    Do your windows fog up?
•    Is the exterior casing loose, cracked, rotting, or missing?
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, consider replacing your windows within the next few months.
Can I Repair My Windows?
Before you jump to the conclusion that you should replace all of your windows, you should check if your windows are repairable. The disadvantage to repairing is that your windows won’t be as efficient as they would be with a replacement. Consult with a residential glass specialist like Sawyer Glass to figure out your best option.
When’s the Best Time of Year to Replace My Residential Glass?
The best time to install replacement windows is during the warmer months. There are a variety of reasons why you should opt for warmer months. The first is that it won’t drain your heating bill as much as it would if you replace during colder temperatures. Another reason is that the caulk adheres better when applied in warmer temperatures. The last reason is that materials often expand and contract. That can damage your window replacement by causing the caulk to split or crack during installation.
While warmer months are your best bet for window replacements, sometimes you have no choice. If your window is broken or cracked, you can’t exactly wait around until spring to put in a new one. If that’s the case in your home, don’t worry, take these precautions.
-    Install on a sunny day.
-    Use silicone-based caulk instead of vinyl or acrylic.
-    Use a sealant with a high joint movement capability.
-    Cover the window opening with floor-to-ceiling plastic to keep heat inside the home.
Is it Worth Replacing Windows Before Selling My House?
Window replacements help with the sale of your home. Windows are one of the big-ticket items that many homebuyers look for in a home. If buyers have to pay for window replacements after they move in, they will opt for another property that already has the windows done. You might not see a visible return on your investment, but new windows will present your home in the best light to potential buyers.
What is the Cost of Replacing My Residential Windows?
The cost of replacement windows varies on a few factors. These include:
•    Location
•    Window Type
•    Quality of Product
•    Partial Replacement vs. Full Replacement
•    Energy Efficiency Level
•    Manufacturer
•    Residential Glass Installer
Working with a residential glass specialist, they’ll help you find windows that are within your price range. Visit https://www.sawyerglass.com/ to find out your residential glass and window replacement options.

Find Out How to Wash Your Favorite Ski Gear
Tumblr media
Let’s get real for a minute. It’s time to talk about your dirty winter laundry-- a subject, most skiers and snowboarders avoid. Like the fresh powder that comes and goes throughout the season, your ski clothes need a fresh wash just the same. Washing your winter outerwear periodically can actually help maintain its ability to keep you warm and keep the water out.
Ski clothes are made of technical fabrics that require unique washing methods including a different detergent and fabric softener. If you wash it using regular cleaning methods, then the chemicals could break down the integrity of the clothes. Fortunately, Village Cleaners in Salt Lake City, Utah breaks down the right way to wash the most popular types of winter gear below.
Down
One of the most popular winter fabrics, down ski jackets, can often need cleaning. Whether yours has been soaked from an afternoon on the slopes or dirty from a little mishap, there are a few tricks to washing your down pieces so that they won’t lose any of their insulation properties.
Just run your down fabric pieces through a regular cold-water wash with ordinary detergent. Then, run it through the wash a second time without any detergent to get all of the soap out of the thick fabric. Don’t use any fabric softeners. After washing your down jacket, put it in the dryer on the lowest heat setting along with a few tennis balls. (Just as you would do for your down comforter.)
Synthetic Insulation
An environmentally-friendly ski gear alternative occasionally crosses our dry-cleaning stores. When they do, our experts take extra care washing them. If you own any synthetic gear, we recommend hand washing or using the delicate wash cycle of your washing machine. Do not use a top-loading machine, either as it can easily rip the fabric.
Make sure to use detergent specifically designated for synthetic material, as well as, cold water. After washing, put it in your dryer on the lowest setting of tumble dry. This will help fluff up without it overheating.
Water Repellant GORE-TEX
Ski jacket, pant, and glove fabric technology is becoming increasingly more complex. One of the most recent and popular types of fabric we see at our SLC, Utah location is GORE-TEX. Made for deep-winter mountaineering and intense conditions, GORE-TEX is made from ultra-waterproof material that’s great for skiing but hard for cleaning. However, when GORE-TEX gets dirty, it significantly affects the material’s ability to keep water out and let air in.
When your GORE-TEX is dirty, machine-wash as described on the tag, then let your gear air dry. Once its dry, throw it into the dryer on tumble dry for 20 minutes to help keep its integrity alive. You can also boost your gear’s water-repellant properties by applying a new water-repellent treatment every few washes.
Base Layers
Whenever you go on a winter excursion, you’re sure to throw on a few base layers. While most of the items typically used as base layers are washed in the typical washing process, a few fabrics including wool, require a specific detergent. For example, wool pieces should use a wool-friendly washing liquid in cold water. Avoid fabric softener and separate these fabrics from mixing with other rougher fabrics when in the wash.
Winter Outerwear Expertise
As a dry-cleaning expert in Utah (known for the “World’s Best Snow”), Village Cleaners professionally navigates the sophisticated methods of ski gear cleaning. If you’re unsure of how to properly wash your winter outwear, contact our Salt Lake City/ University of Utah location. We can handle all of your wash-and-fold needs.

Concrete Barriers
When most people think of concrete traffic barriers, they think of their use on the sides of major roadways. Although they serve an important purpose by separating walkways and oncoming traffic from the road, they also have a number of other equally important applications from protecting utilities and materials from heavy machinery to deterring traffic and separating materials to prevent erosion in certain areas. They are also used to protect delicate materials from both natural erosion and heavy construction equipment.
How do they work?
There is a certain comfort when walking along a busy road and having a concrete barrier between you and traffic. If a driver were to swerve off the road, the barrier is going to take the brunt of the momentum and force from the car in addition to redirecting the energy away from the pedestrian. They also provide safety for construction workers who may be working in high traffic areas like the freeway. Traffic can be safely diverted without having a person standing on the freeway in traffic.
Why are concrete barriers important?
Aside from the safety factors for pedestrians and construction workers, concrete barriers can also keep materials separated for safety and organizational reasons. Setting concrete barriers up can also prevent erosion by redirecting the water away from banks, homes or any other surface where erosion is a concern. Concrete erodes at a much slower rate than materials like wood, dirt or sand.
Materials and specifications
Because concrete traffic barriers must be durable to do their job, it is important that the most effective fabrication methods are used to build them. Concrete barriers can be either prefabricated or made onsite. The process of prefabrication is called pre-casting and provides a number of major benefits. The biggest benefit to pre-casting is quality control. Pre-casting takes place in an enclosed building, therefore insuring that the materials used are safe from elemental damage and are able to cure under ideal conditions allowing for optimal strength and consistency. The pre-casting process allows the process to run smoothly, as weather conditions don’t need to be accounted for in order to prevent damage to materials.
Harper Precast is a Utah business with a national footprint. Harper Precast has been providing quality precast concrete barriers since 2006. Harper Precast knows the value of durable and cost-effective products. Quality workmanship and customer service are Harper Precast’s top priority. If you’re looking for concrete barriers, or other precast products, Harper Precast has got your back.

Beginners Guide to Modify an Audi A4
Tumblr media
Since its introduction to the car scene in 1994, the Audi A4 has stood strong as one of the most popular models to modify. Many mods are creative, unique, and performance-driven to make your Audi one-of-a-kind. But with so many mods available where should you start?
If you’re ready to improve your Audi but don’t know where to begin, find out which ones are most necessary below.
Kick Up Performance with ECU Tuning
Gain major strides in terms of performance by changing your car’s software to pull out more power from what’s already inside. While there are various software programs, Integrated Engineering’s Audi A4tuning software is easy-to-use and can be done in your own driveway. Various stages of tuning unlock additional levels of power. However, stage one provides the biggest jump in performance and typically doesn’t require any additional hardware. In fact, an IE stage 1 tune could yield up to 70 BHP over Audi’s current stock capabilities.
Free Up Airflow with an Exhaust
The Audi A4 exhaust leaves much to be desired. Free up airflow for better performance with a specialized downpipe. By switching out your current exhaust for a downpipe you’ll gain substantial power and torque capabilities, reduce emissions and unwanted smells, and allow significant engine movement without failing or cracking.
Eliminate Future Problems with an Intercooler
Many of the problems that come with the Audi A4 engine narrows down to the factory intercooler. If your intercooler cannot properly dissipate heat from the engine than it won’t cool the engine fast enough. If this happens then your engine won’t be able to push out power properly. Normally, the factory intercooler is fine unless your pushing higher levels of power. Aftermarket mods like the IE Audi B8 A4 FDS Intercoolereliminate heat soak and give you higher levels of quality control.
Make It Yours with New Wheels & Rims
Adding new wheels and rims to your A4 is the most popular mod on the market. Widely sought after by enthusiasts, wheels and rims improve aesthetic and gave a good amount of additional performance. The right set of wheels will make the overall driving experience better. It’s sturdiness, balance, and acceleration support are just some of the many reasons why wheels are the most popular mods.
Ready to start your Audi A4 journey? Check out mod specialists like Integrated Engineeringfor the latest A4 developments and more.

What to Expect from Pain Management Treatment
Tumblr media
Here in Utah, nearly one million people battle chronic pain every day. Of all medical problems, chronic pain affects more Americans than cancer, heart disease, and diabetes combined. While many chronic pain patients may endure pain for many years, you don’t need to suffer any longer. There are treatments and medications available to help you manage and even alleviate your pain once and for all. Pain management treatment in Utah is safe, effective, and, most importantly, necessary.  But what can you expect from treatment and how do you get started? Let’s discuss.
Getting Your Pain Treatment Started
After setting up an appointment at a pain specialist facility, like Omega Interventional Pain, you’ll undergo an evaluation. During this visit, a pain management specialist will perform a thorough assessment. Afterward, they’ll work together developing a plan for care. Your specialist will also coordinate with your physician and a complete healthcare team. This will give you the treatment plan, cost, and expectations you need to move forward knowing you’re getting the treatment you need.
Pain Diagnosis
To correctly address your pain, it’s important that all necessary diagnostic tests are performed. This will give your doctors a clear understanding of the source of your pain and develop a well-informed plan. These tests may include:
-    Diagnostic Nerve Blocks
-    Thermographic Imaging
-    Discography
-    CT or CAT
-    Psychological Testing
-    Dietary and Nutritional Testing
Treatment Process
Throughout the treatment process, support staff will continually be monitoring your progress. They’ll work in coordination with other healthcare providers to give you the most optimal chance of relief. Whether you require surgery, physical therapy, medication, or some other form treatment, your specialist walks with you hand-in-hand throughout the entire process. Along with in-house treatment, you’ll be given specific instructions on how to best manage your pain. Following this plan is essential. They’ll also check in with you regularly to see how everything is working and make any necessary adjustments.
Interventional Procedures
Through the use of onsite, sterile procedure suite, your Utah pain management specialists can offer a variety of interventional procedures to patients.  These procedures, when used in conjunction with medication therapy, provide increased efficacy and pain relief as opposed to any one treatment when used on their own. These procedures include:
-    Celiac Plexus Blocks
-    Epidural Steroid Injections
-    Intrathecal Pumps
-    Facet Injections
-    Ganglion Impar Blocks

4 Ways to Bring Your Home into the Smart-Era
Tumblr media
In the technology era, we’re quick to update our smartphones, laptops, and entertainment devices, but we’ve left behind our homes. Don’t leave your home in the early 2000s—it’s time to bring your home far into the future with a few easy-to-install devices. If your home is more Brady Bunch than Jetson, here are the top four ways you can teleport to this century.
1.    Lighting Control System
A lighting system installed by Reed’s Built-Ins of Utahgives you the ability to adjust the preset turn-on brightness. By merely changing the default turn-on to level 90% instead of 100%, you save 10% on the electricity used to light your home with little, if any, perceived brightness loss. Motion sensors placed in strategic areas around the house can also turn lights off automatically if no movement has occurred within a predefined amount of time.
Along with brightness, lighting systems also let you, with the touch of a button from inside your car, light a path from the garage to any room in the house. The built-in vacation mode allows predetermined lights to turn on and off at random to make the home look “lived in” while you are away on vacation. When the day is over, pressing the “Goodnight” button turns all the lights in the house off – except the kids’ hall light, which drops to a preset 30% to serve as a nightlight.
Whether you’re building a new home or upgrading an existing one, a lighting control system is the perfect way to transition your home into the smart house of your dreams.
2.    Security Systems
If your home stands a chance against future technology, it needs a well-honed security system. Adding indoor and outdoor security cameras to your home can be a huge blessing. From keeping tabs on your kids to checking in on your house while you’re on vacation, there’s nothing like knowing your home is safe and secure no matter where you are.
Along with security cameras, another technology jump comes in the form of doorbell security. Forget the outdated doorbell with one single function. Doorbell cameras allow you to see who’s outside your house even when your miles and miles away. It’s also a great way to keep an eye on package delivery. Hello Amazon!
3.    Voice Assitant
Alexa and Siri are the housemaids of the future. Don’t let your home go without one. Smart speakers are all the rage right now. Whether you want to listen to music or need to know the temperature outside, smart speakers can do it all. Pair yours with a lighting control system, and you can smoothly dim your lights without ever leaving the couch.
4.    Smart Thermostats
If you haven’t gone green yet, then you’re living in the past. Get up-to-date with an energy-efficient thermostat. A smart thermostat is a Wi-Fi enabled device that automatically adjusts heating and cooling for optimal performance in your home. It’s also proven to save a good chunk of change on energy costs.
Have a question about how to set up a smart home or connecting all your devices? Visit https://www.reedsbuiltins.com/ to learn more about updating your home today.

How to Pick the Right Dry Cleaner
Tumblr media
Good quality clothes and items are expensive and should last us long after we purchase them. But without a reliable dry cleaner, you could ruin them faster than you can ask, “Pick up or delivery?” Before you settle on a dry cleaner, Village Cleaners, a dry cleaning service in Murray, Utah, says you should ask these four questions.
1.     What kind of dry cleaning solvent does the dry cleaner use?
When choosing a dry cleaner, it’s important to find a dry cleaner that uses green dry cleaning technology. Advance dry cleaning technology now utilizes specialized solvents and detergents that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approves as environmentally-friendly.
While many dry cleaning businesses advertise as “green” companies, some of their methods aren’t as healthy as they may seem. According to the EPA, it’s estimated that 28,000 dry cleaners in the United States still use tetrachloroethylene (“perc”)—a solvent whose exposure is proven to lead to cancer.
Village Cleanersis a Certified Environmental Dry Cleaner that uses green-cleaning equipment and green cleaning solvents. Village Cleaners uses solvents like Green Earth and Solvon K4, rather than perc and hydrocarbon, in their services. This protects not only the environment but you and your clothes, as well.
2.     What do their online reviews say about them?
Before the digital age, you’d have to ask your neighbors for dry cleaner advice. Now you can turn your friends on the internet. Online reviews often tell you everything you need to know about a dry cleaner. From price points to customer service, most dry cleaning locations are on Google, Yelp, Facebook, and other popular review sites. Dry cleaners like Village Cleaners post their customer reviews on their website making it easy to see what their customers have to say about them.
3.     How long have they been in business?
Another way to see how well a dry cleaner does business is how long they’ve been around. Tried-and-true dry cleaners can make it through the best and worst of times. If you want to know whether a dry cleaner is good or not, ask when how long they’ve been a business.
4.     How do they treat their customers?
Customer service in the dry cleaning service is huge. From last-minute services to pickup & delivery, if your dry cleaner isn’t friendly and helpful, you’re best off finding a new one. A good dry cleaner will work with you if a problem arises and help you solve it.
Find Your Go-To Dry Cleaner
No matter which dry cleaner you choose, make sure they hit all the marks. Visit https://www.villagecleaners.com/location/murray-dry-cleaners/for more information about Village Cleaners’ dry cleaning services.

Everything You Need to Know About Concrete Vaults
Tumblr media
In the construction industry, workers use a variety of concrete vaults. A quick Google search on concrete vaults and you’ll come up with endless descriptions of concrete burial vaults. While those are a type of vault, there are also many other concrete vaults used throughout the construction industry and more. The utility vaults used in the construction world are containers made from concrete including water meter vaults, pressure reducing valve vaults, holding tanks, inlet/outlet structures, and containment vaults.
We recently discussed the variety of concrete vaults in the construction industry with Harper Precast, a utility vault specialist located in Utah. Let’s look at what they had to say about concrete vaults below.
Many businesses in the construction industry handle an array of jobs. Whether it’s commercial offices, city contract work, or another specialty, each of these jobs requires concrete structures to remain compliant with city code, OSHA requirements, and basic industry standards. Let’s discuss each of the different vaults used in the industry.
Water Meter Vaults
Precast meter vaults or valve boxes, protect and provide easy access to water meters while housing the water meters. These types of vaults are extensively used for commercial and industrial applications but are also used in residential locations.
Pressure Reducing Valve Vaults
To house pressure reducing valves properly, businesses turn to customized solutions found in pressure reducing valve vaults. Pressure reducing valve vaults can accommodate the pipes underground while allowing access to the valve for monitoring and controlling the water at ground level.
Holding Tanks

How to Protect Yourself Against Car Theft
With the car theft epidemic spiraling out of control, it’s more crucial than ever to protect yourself. However, car thieves are becoming increasingly more organized and within seconds can leave you without valuables, car parts, and, even, your whole car. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s reports, motor vehicle theft is on the rise with a 7.4 percent overall increase.
While car manufacturers continually strive to improve the safety features of its car, there are a variety of ways to protect yourself against car theft. Here are the top 7 ways to protect yourself against car theft.
1.     Lock your car at all times.
Whether you’re parked or driving, make sure that your vehicle is locked at all times.
2.     Never leave your keys in the car when parked.
Keep your keys out of your vehicle whenever you’re parked. Some car owners leave their keys in their car when it’s parked inside their home’s garage. Don’t do this. You should also close all the windows and sunroof when parked, as well.
3.     Never leave your car running and unattended.
Many thieves look for cars that are empty and running before they make their move. In fact, some insurance companies won’t cover you if you leave your car running to “warm up” in the driveway and it’s stolen.
4.     Store your valuables in locked storage spaces.
Whether it’s your cell phone, laptop, vehicle registration, or wallet. Aftermarket storage containers protect you in areas where you’re most vulnerable. Transform your factory glove box into a high-security storage area with Tuffy Security Product’s High-Security Glove Boxes. These glove boxes can be used to secure many smaller items, including your vehicle registration which is one of the top items thieves look for when stealing.
Another storage space to swap out for a securer one is your console. Tuffy Security Product’s also offers high-security consoles that provide style, security, and convenience in one package. The Tuffy console insert transforms your OEM console into a heavy-duty lockable storage area utilizing a Pry-Guard locking system. This is the perfect place for cell phones, wallets, purses, and other smaller valuables.
5.     Park in the open.
Most car thefts occur in the dark. Be cautious where you park your car, especially at night. Try to park in well-lit areas that are highly populated. If possible, install a camera system where you park at home.
6.     Don’t leave valuables out in the open.
Thieves often look inside vehicles for valuables before breaking into cars. If you leave shopping bags, purses, laptop bags, or other valuables out in the open, you’re more vulnerable to a break-in. Keep your trunk and cargo area secure from thieves with high-security cargo drawersand cargo lockboxes. Depending on your vehicle there are a variety of that can fit your exact needs.
7.     Be aware of your surroundings.
Many car thefts and break-ins occur because the car owner wasn’t thinking things through. Make sure to use your common sense, especially in garages, parking lots, and gas stations. If a thief confronts you, don’t resist. Cars are replaceable; you aren’t.

Heidi Zorn
Heidi L. Zorn is an entrepreneur and equestrian from Salt Lake City, Utah who has dedicated her life to developing affordable arena solutions that are safe and beneficial to the horse. Heidi’s passion for horses and experience in show jumping began at the early age of 12. She competed in both hunters and jumpers as a junior rider. She receive many awards and championships along with 3 AHSA Hunt Seat Equitation Medals, which qualified her for the Madison Square Gardens Finals.
In her early 30’s she converted to dressage. Her passion for this discipline guided her to invent a variety of equestrian products that are innovative, safe and affordable. “It all started when I wanted to have my own little white fence dressage arena, but the price at that time was far more than I could afford. So, I decided to make one for myself.” states Zorn. After designing and developing safety features, and finding durable materials safe for horses, her new dressage arena, called the Classic Arena, was a fraction of the price.
In 2000 Heidi co-founded Premier Equestrian and her new dressage arena designs blazed the path for many more innovative equestrian products to follow. In 2005, Heidi released the revolutionary Brentina Arena, named after Debbie McDonald’s famous mount. This unique arena brought a new standard of safety to the  international dressage community, while maintaining the elegance and beauty needed for high level competition.
In 2006 Heidi was driven by personal tribulations with her own horses to investigate equine biomechanics, and how the surfaces that we ride on affect our horses’ soundness.  She worked diligently with industry professionals to learn more about what makes a superior riding surface. Through her research and trials, Heidi designed a line of footing additives and arena grooming equipment that can accommodate almost any budget. Today, Premier Equestrian is one of the industry leaders for synthetic arena surfaces and arena groomers. In 2017 the company earned the designation as the Official Footing Supplier for US Equestrian.

6 Laundry Tips Straight from Your Dry Cleaner
Nothing kills laundry quite like outdated tips. Refresh yours with some of our favorites straight from dry-cleaning service, Village Cleaners located in Holladay, Utah. Whether your favorite jacket needs cleaning, or you’re worried about a stain on your duvet, we’ve got you covered. Check out these six tips to spruce things up around your house.
1.    Don’t Let Stains Set
Stains are the bane of our existence. However, treat them quickly, and you’re far more likely to get them out. The best way to fix a stain is to treat it before it sets. Quickly scoop up residue and blot liquids with a clean white cloth. Make sure you also treat the stain before washing to stop the stain from spreading. Once washed, check the item to see if the stain is there before drying.
2.    Professionals Help with Household Items Too
Many people forget that dry-cleaning and laundry professionals are equipped to handle cleaning your household items. Rugs and couches need love too. Especially since they’re continually getting damaged with bodies, feet, debris, sun-damage, and more. Make household items look as good as new with help from a local dry cleaner like Village Cleaners.
3.    Perspiration and Lotions Kill Fabric—Protect It!
Rather than throwing on your clothes right when you’re ready, take a second and dry off. Lotions, moisturizers, perfumes, and antiperspirants can ruin your clothes without you even realizing it. Allow yourself to dry before you get dressed. Also, be sure to choose the right deodorant so that the area under the armpit isn’t discolored.
4.    Don’t Iron Stained Items
Your mom might have already told you this a million times, but we’re here to say to you once more—don’t press stains. Ironing a stained item leads to permanent damage. If you have a stain and MUST use the article, skip the area surrounding the stain while you're pressing. However, treating the stain first is the best way to ensure removal.
5.    Clean Items Before Storing Them
If you’re storing your items, make sure to clean them before packing them away. Storing dirty or worn clothes for an extended period of time can cause damage. This is especially true for suits and sweaters made of wool or that are stained. Leaving items dirty can cause discoloration or accelerate the aging of your clothing. No matter which item you’re storing, make sure that you properly clean them before storage.
6.    Hang Dry Your Items When Possible
Keeping your clothes out of the dryer can significantly prevent shrinkage. Hang drying or flat drying your items is the best drying method. Another perk to hang drying? Hang drying can save you money on your energy bill.

Your Microdermabrasion Questions Answered!
Everyone from the Real Housewives to your neighbor down the street is talking about it. You’ve seen videos on social media about it. Your mom is even flaunting hers. Don’t you think it’s about time you understood what all this microdermabrasion fuss is about? Luckily, the folks at TrueSkin Dermatologyare here to answer all your questions about microdermabrasion. Find out what it is, how it works, and why it’s worth it below.
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a minimally-invasive, non-chemical procedure that renews the overall tone and texture of the skin. Your skin's exposed to environmental elements and aging damage every day. Microdermabrasion treatments can significantly reduce and even eliminate the wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, and uneven pigmentation that appears over time. Used to improve the appearance of the skin, microdermabrasion can also reduce the effects of sun damage, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related issues.
How does Microdermabrasion work?
Microdermabrasion uses tiny crystals to exfoliate the skin. A trained physician uses a machine to gently exfoliate the surface of the skin to remove the dead skin cells. Along with that exfoliation, a vacuum gently sucks the removed skin cells away during the process. This procedure leaves you with the fresh, undamaged skin lying underneath your skin’s surface.
Is Microdermabrasion good for your skin?
Since the 1990s, microdermabrasion has been used by dermatologists to treat skin-related conditions and concerns. The procedure improves circulation, reduces pore size, revitalizes skin health, enhances absorption, and leaves you with healthy skin.
Does it work?
Yes! Patients who undergo microdermabrasion normally see results after their first treatment. This is especially true when microdermabrasion is used in the treatment of removing blackheads and brightening the skin. If conditions are worse, additional sessions are needed for significant results. Occasionally to maintain results, a top-up treatment is required over time.
What are the benefits of Microdermabrasion?
Due to the procedure’s easy application, microdermabrasion is also known as the “lunchtime facial.” The procedure improved your skin in minutes and is a highly effective way to restore youthful looking skin. Many patients see dramatic improvements in the tone, texture, and color of the treated areas. It also improves:
-    Fine Lines
-    Crow’s Feet
-    Oily or Dull Skin
-    Enlarged/ Clogged Pores
-    Acne Scars
-    Uneven Pigmentation
-    Stretch Marks
What are the side effects?
After your procedure, you can feel some tightness and dryness over the first 24 hours. It’s important to leave your skin clear of makeup and other products during that time, other than moisturizer and sunscreen. However, there are no side effects to microdermabrasion if the proper procedure is followed.
How much does Microdermabrasion cost?
The cost of microdermabrasion depends on a variety of factors including the number of treatments needed, fees of the treating physician, the region you live, and more. However, many people choose microdermabrasion because it’s a less expensive alternative than other cosmetic procedures. Schedule a consultationwith our offices to figure out what works best for you.

Which Shower Door is Your Perfect Fit?
Installing a new shower in your home? Whether you’re updating your master bathroom or building a home, finding the right shower door can be tricky. There are many options to consider. What should be your top priority is finding a shower door the fits your space. Consider your bathroom’s design, amount of space available, and which elements you’d like to feature. Let’s kick off the process by discussing the different shower door types on the market today.
Frameless Glass Shower Enclosures vs. Framed Shower Doors

Knowing the difference between frameless glass shower enclosures and framed ones is the key to narrowing down your choices. Frameless shower doors are a popular option that fits well in most bathrooms. These frames are made mostly of glass with minimal framing. Frameless glass shower enclosure experts Sawyer Glasssay that frameless is a popular option because of its minimal design and easy cleaning.
On the other hand, framed shower doors feature an aluminum surround with bits of hardware for hinges and handles. These features add extra stability to the shower enclosure that is especially convenient in kid bathrooms.
Pivot Shower Doors

After deciding which type of enclosure you’d like there are many other options to consider. Pivot shower enclosures open up using a pivot system. These traditional swinging hinge shower doors typically open outward from one side. This option is great for showers under 60 inches and is too small for sliding doors.
Sliding Shower Doors
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/101190322855940241/
Notorious for their ability to fit into small spaces, sliding shower doors are great because they never expand inside or outside the shower. Sliding shower doors consist of two to three glass panels that slide past each other along the top and bottom of the shower. Another added benefit is that they are fairly inexpensive.
Neo-Angle Shower Doors
Best-suited for corner showers, neo-angle shower enclosures are designed to keep the door in the open space instead of close to a wall. These showers also use three different panels including the door and side panels. You can also have these shower enclosures framed or frameless.
