The Queen offered no comment in defense of her mate, hardly registered Kairi’s frown at all. For all Ansem was becoming, he had still made himself their monster. He had surely earned more than a frown and an all too cutting teenage tone. When no further rebuke arrived, her ears followed the sound of an answer instead.
“And Master Aqua was trained by Master Eraqus,” she recited dutifully, remembering the lifespan of each heart that made the one dearest to her. “I fear there is not much she can tell you, when it comes to the Worlds beyond. Nor could Master Yen Sid, being of the last generation.” Sliding into the seat across from Kairi, she raised a hand, defensive. “Which is not to say that they are without merit. I imagine all of you are ignorant now, with the doctrine I saw penned as your guiding light. I do not mean to disparage any of the Masters who came before – I am only trying to help you understand.”
Indeed, if she was to curse any Master, it was not one so near to the girl. Folding her hands neatly against the dark wood of the table, she steadied herself.
Studying the newly offered trinket, Hel slid her hands forward, grasping it delicately before tugging the Shard inward. Inspecting it, how the light of her hall’s torches paled before it, she hummed. “And this can take you to any world?  Did it bring you here, or–” Grinning to herself, she grasped the Star Shard delicately in her hand, fingers curling against its ridges, “Did you brave the guardian feline of the Final World?”
[Kairi]
She blinked, and them smiled, when asked about that. “Oh no, Chirithy’s not there anymore. He went back to be with Ven, me and Sora took him before Sora brought me back to Destiny Islands.”
Kairi nodded toward the shard, bringing up her own hands to rest on the table, arms folded on it.
“That brought me here. I think it works like a shoot star, sort of? I just wished to be taken to somewhere or someone who could help me find Sora, or find a way to bring him back. Or even locate him...”
She laughed a bit and scratched at her cheek a second, glancing at the floor. “Maybe I was a little vague with it....”
Kairi sighed. “But maybe you can still help me understand things that no one else can. The real question is, will you?”

“Please.”
The word echoed in the space about her specter, an urging. The Composer watched her, his own true  form flickering like flame. Game recognized game, ancient though it may be, and with their kind, a clock was forever winding down. His head lilted. The seam of her mouth opened, and in another’s voice, it whispered another girl’s prayer.
The tether snapped. Returned to her own realm, melded firmly to the physical world, she refocused on Kairi just as she began to speak. Time remembered itself, and she recognized its flow like the road to her own home. Green eyes locked onto the girl who now faced her, she listened in silence.
“Kairi, then,” she murmured. “This would be easier if you were sitting down, Kairi.” Exhaustion was a constant in this form, sweetly-earned but no less wearying. Motioning to one of the long tables that occupied her main hall, she moved to guide the girl towards it.
“Ansem tells me you are a wielder. Have you a Master?”
[Kairi]
“Ansem...right.” A frown briefly flew across her face before returning to a more neutral look and she sighed.
“Yeah, I’m a wielder now. But as for a Master, I guess the closest thing is Master Yen Sid. Though, I think Master Aqua said she’d take over training me once she and Terra and Ven return from the Realm of Darkness. So, for now, I guess none?”
Kairi shrugged as she took a seat, instinctively pulling her feet up under her too all but curl up in the chair.
“Namine’s been hanging around Radiant Garden with Mads and the rest, and Riku’s been there more often than not, working on that simulation Cid cooked up. Master Yen Sid did give me this though--” She placed the Star Shard on the table and it glowed with its own light. “Mickey warned me that it would take me places at random, but apparently being a heart of pure light lends me a little more control over it. It lets me go where I want for now, until I can learn to use a Keyblade Glider and get some armor, I guess.”

Light.
Light was a stranger in her realm, and only a little more than a year removed from being a distant dream. It shone from this girl like a supernova. How had her mate ever stood before its might without being torn asunder? One glance from this girl ought to have leveled king and dominion. It scorched even her eyes.
She vanished from her throne in a plume of black smoke, in the speed of a dark corridor. Reappearing behind the girl, Hel put her feathered cloak around the child’s shoulders, long, thin fingers resting there at the edges.
“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Princess, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” Her mind went seeking, easily as breathing, across every inch of her realm, lingering in the doorways of afterlives that were not her own. The child had spoken correctly – there was not a trace of the boy hero in any of them.
Someone tugged, softly, at the thread of her mind. Ancient, humming, harmonizing, violet eyed–
“And Worlds beyond this one.”
[Kairi]
Kairi blinked-- and Hel was suddenly behind her. She jumped a bit, but relaxed when the cloak settled over her shoulders. Kairi pulled it tighter, turning to look up at the Queen.
“Don’t call me Princess,” was the first thing out of her mouth in response. “Too many people have called me that that then turned around and hurt me. I don’t want to be that anymore. I won’t be that anymore. I’m just Kairi.”
Her hands tightened on the fabric of the cloak and she took a breath.
“And if there’s things that I don’t understand, then tell me. Teach me. I need to know more if I’m ever gonna find Sora, save him.” She glanced down, scuffing her shoe against the floor. “Please.”

[Kairi]
She shivered against the cold of Helheim, looking up at the throne and the woman who sat upon it. Kairi chewed her lip as she moved closer.
“I know, um, that you don’t help people come back from the dead and all, but I was wondering if you could maybe help me find Sora? He’s not dead-- I know he’s not. But he’s not....not in our realm either. I just--” She sighed. “I’m running out of places to look...”

“Hello, lovely,” she hummed softly, still scanning the pages of the book before her, “What do you want?”
[Elrena, Post KH3]
Elrena’s eyes widened in faux shock as she put a hand to her chest.
“Does a lady need a reason to call her darling girlfriend beautiful?” She slid onto the couch next to Hel, wrapping an arm around her waist. “Can’t I just compliment you?”

He tries so hard to mess with his Other, walking past Sora with the cover story of retrieving something or other. On his way back, however, Roxas does not hesitate to kick one of the back legs out from under the Island boy's chair -- Pausing only when the three legged seat continued to stand on its own. "Sora--"
{Sora}
Sora doesn’t even look at the former Nobody, taking a long drink from his soda as he continued to try to do his math homework– when did math get so complicated?
And then, when the chair leg pops off, a tiny smirk appeared on his lips. He knew Roxas would try something like that, but what Roxas didn’t know was that this chair’s leg would come off all the time– Sora knew how to deal with it.
“Yeah, what’s up?” He asked nonchalantly, looking over his shoulder at the other.

"Vibe Check!" Smacks Vexen on the ass.

{Vexen}
At the smack, Vexen let out a high pitched and extremely loud screech. The kind that only ever was heard from the likes of pterodactyls.
“XIGBAR!!” He roared, face the shade of Axel’s hair.

Braig whines, sliding down in his seat in an effort to shove his shoulders further into the corner of the couch, “C’mooooon, man, it’s just a word, he’s probably gonna hear me say it a bunch more times before he’s old enough to say it if you’re the one makin’ the rules. I mean, fuck dude, I’m probably not even old enough to say it accordin’ to you.”
{Even}
His face turned redder by the minute, and he looked fit to burst a gasket-- until he let out his breath and seemed to slump in on himself. He moved slugishly to the couch, sitting with a soft thump.
“I just want him to grow up well and not....turn out wrong, that’s all. I worry....” He put his head in his hands and sighed. “I never signed up for this, being a surrogate parent. I never wanted kids and now here I am, with one foisted upon me, and I love him to death, I do, but it’s infinitely more taxing on my tired nerves when you’re a factor.” Even shot a glare at Braig before deflating again, falling back against the couch, his head leaned back.

“You just can’t handle how awesome my new ride’s going to look when it’s done.” It was taking everything in him not to laugh at Kairi’s exasperation, to give in just to spare her the irritation. Collecting screws in the palm of his free hand, he turned the wheels properly, giving them a cursory spin to test their alignment.
“That sounds like a lot of work.” Work for everyone who wasn’t him, in fact. “‘Sides, how are Hayner and Olette going to keep up with me if I take off on a glider? I think I’ll stick to skating for now.”
{Kairi}
She sighed again and shrugged. “Fine, have it your way. But know that I still object to the wings.”
Kairi chuckled and leaned back on her hands. “Y’know what’s cooler than skateboarding though? Surfing. Sora’s been teaching me, it’s great.”

“Right, right–”
Rummaging in his pockets for his screwdriver, he presented it while staring Kairi down. Absently twirling it along his fingers, he offered a short click of the tongue against her judgment of the board’s cosmetics. Kneeling to flip the board, he answered.
“No way. They make me go faster.” Fastidiously working at the screws holding the wheels in place, he grinned to himself. “And they look awesome.”
{Kairi}
“You didn’t even use duct tape to attach them, you used just regular ass tape, dude.” She sighed and rolled her eyes, flopping down across from him and the board. Kairi tilted her head as she watched.
“I bet Chip and Dale could make you a cool board. Or maybe like Aqua or Terra or someone could teach you how to use a keyblade glider!”

“Well, first thing’s first, I’d fix the wheels if I were you. So, y’know, it can roll right and everything.” She laughed and shrugged, staring down at the skateboard again.
“And then maybe, I dunno, take off the wings-- are they made of cardboard? Really, Rox?”
@corilliclavis ll cont.
Huffing out a laugh as the wheeled monstrosity bumped against his leg, Roxas put his foot on it. Friction met his attempt to roll it forward, until he finally surrendered.
“Gimme a break, Kairi. I never said I was an engineer – But I didn’t think you had to be one to put a skateboard together.” Frowning just so, he looked down at the offending object again. “You got any ideas?”

She arched a brow and laughed, poking at the skateboard with her toe.
“Yeah, I think so– you’ve got the wheels on backwards and those wings…I don’t think those help anything. This was ridable before, right? How did you fuck it up this bad?”

The little girl squinted up at him, face scrunched up in thought. He was awfully nice, and he had saved her from the monsters. She reached out her hand and placed it in his.
“Okay…Will you teach me to fight the bad monsters? Like how you did?”

He watched the pair arguing from afar, his arms crossed as he shook his head. Gula and Aced certainly were a voaltile pair.
“Indeed.” Ira sighed and turned to stare down at Invi. “I don’t feel like dealing with this right now, do you?”

RAZIA’S SHADOW SENTENCE STARTERS
“ we simply planted the seed and nursed it through winter. ”
“ the rest is up to you, to do with what you’ll do. ”
“ what a splendid mess [he’s] made of this. ”
“ everything seems to fade when i see [her] face; the sky and trees all blur, every time i look at [her]. ”
“ you’re not the only one who thinks they’re falling in love. ”
“ my mind’s in knots, it’s got me lost; please help me through the maze. ”
“ i am more than some eager blood, not some average bones. ”
“ flood it through my blood; breathe it through my lungs. ”
“ i’m gonna show you this once, and then you’re gonna do it. ”
“ it must hurt so bad, with a knife in your back. ”
“ they say you’re gifted—well, i just see a scared kid. ”
“ but now that’s all gone; maybe the design’s flawed. ”
“ my words will tear through the air—pierce through the despair—to find your arrogant, throbbing ears. ”
“ if it’s too much to bear, or to hear, or take, i’ll be frank; let my inflection be crystal clear. ”
“ this mess that you’ve made—it’s a six-foot grave. ”
“ what a tragic mess you fools have made of this. ”
“ you can’t escape your own skin. ”
“ to erase the wrong we’ve done, the dark and light will become one. ”
“ so why don’t i just go? ”
“ what’s the point of dreaming if it can never materialize? ”
“ it’s not me that you see. it’s just my pedigree. ”
“ you’re a reckless and romantic rogue. ”
“ don’t you ever feel like you’ve been destined for something bigger than your skin? ”
“ you are short-sighted, naive and starry-eyed. ”
“ we curb our speech, because words are not enough. ”
“ take my hand and trust in me. ”
“ i can’t go back—i just won’t go back! ”
“ it’s a story that you may have heard before, told as mythical lore—but this translation is clear, unlike the embellishments that have reached your ears. ”
“ don’t be scared, kid. ”
“ these two have been on quite an odyssey. ”
“ and you’ve been lying through your teeth. ”
“ i mean to tell you sooner; it’s been gnawing at my brain. ”
“ i was shortsighted; i ignored your cries… ”
“ please don’t let your tired heart stop beating. you’re bleeding… just keep breathing… ”
“ place your hand on mine, one last time, and kiss me goodbye. ”
“ the unrelenting constancy of love and hope will rescue and restore you from any scope. “

“No, he won’t because he’s a smart boy who knows when a word shouldn’t be used by a small child! If he wishes to use it when he gets older then that’s his decision! But for now, he is not to know or use that language and you damn well know it!” He looked absolutely livid, green eye narrowed and his arms crossed over his chest. If he were a cat, he would be arched and hissing.
