“Hey, Mooooooon-’

Jersey stopped in her tracks. Usually Jersey let herself in, and Moon was sitting on the couch, reading her mangas that Jersey sometimes looked over her shoulder for- but that was neither here or there. The important problem was that:

1. Full Moon was not sitting, tending to her indoor gardens or reading manga and 2. The entire house was covered in brown and green from dirt and soil from the former indoor garden inside of Full Moon’s house.

“... f... Full Moon...? Did you... did you murder your house?”

Scuba got up and then went sat down next to her and did one his little pose things Yo! Do you have Entropical or Chopscrewey? Those are super fresh lately along with off the hook’s new album! You should totally make sure you have those on hand! If not the party won’t have the sound it needs,ya hear? I know some of the best music.

“Yoooo!” Straw cheered, pressing a hand on Scuba’s shoulder. “That’s BRILLIANT, should’ve thought of it!” She shook his shoulder slightly, her laughter filling through the empty room. 

“If I can’t find a copy by the weekend, do you have it? I’ve only really heard it in battles before, but I agree, it’s amazing!” Straw lifted her hand from Scuba’s shoulder, leaning backwards and letting her face scrunch up in thought. “My first priority was Off The Hook’s new album, though. Don’t worry about those songs!”

   “… No.” For once, Mask is quick, and to the point. “I’ve been playing Animal Crossiiiiing… And… also Squid Beatz two.” Yes, he has been returning to the Square to beat that game. No, it’s not because someone beat all his old high scores. Shut up.

“… You’re gonna make me play it anywaaay, aren’t you…”

“Well, of coooooourse! Can’t play Animal Crossing all the time.” To be honest, Jersey wanted to play Animal Crossing too, but her main priority was fighting Mask and making him suffer just a little bit while she won.

At least he knew some of the Castle Soul lore.

“Now, I brought two controllers and the device. Come here.” She beckoned him towards the shadow, then held out both controllers- one was a soft blue color, while the other was black. “Your pick.” Mask was going to find out what kind of game it was by experience, clearly.

Scuba hummed lightly and sat down on the stage Straw had for karaoke and thought for a few seconds before he spoke again It is your party so you can invite whoever you want!~ I’m pretty sure Octoglasses and Aloha would totally dig what you have going on here~ Also do you have any wahoo punch? Seems like he already had his own priorities set 

Straw turned back to Scuba, laughing again. She did that a lot! She dashed to the stage and jumped onto the edge, letting her legs dangle off its edge. At the topic of Wahoo Punch, Straw snorted.

“Well, duh!” Straw said, rolling her eyes. “What do you think I am, a newbie party host?” She paused at that, then placed her hands on her lap. “Don’t... answer that. I’m not a newbie party-goer, of course I have Wahoo Punch! Most of the Punch is Wahoo Punch!”

There was some other ones, but everyone liked Wahoo Punch, she only got others because she wanted to provide options.

“So, what Karaoke tracks should I have?” Straw pat the stage space next to her. “I have the obvious Calamari Inkantation, both classic and pop, and a few other band songs, but what else pops to mind?”

   Whenever she’s out and about, Brooke tends to at least try to seem inconspicuous, in the hopes that nobody’ll try to talk to her, but… well, she’s wearing armor, and her tentacles are big, and red. She’s not exactly subtle.

Somehow, though, she’s still surprised by the sudden Inkling, squeaking a little as she’s grabbed.

“A-ah, me? Are you… a-are you s-sure?” Party??? Karaoke?? What… what is a karaoke?? And why did this Inkling want Brooke at her party? She’s like, the least interesting Octoling up here. “I-I’ve… never been to a party? I don’t… kn-know why anyone would w-want me at one, e-either…”

At the surprised reaction of the weird-tentacled girl in front of her, Straw’s smile grew even wider. She was making a good choice, then! The Inkling straightened up, her hands still holding the other’s hand between them.

“Well, that’s a reason to go! Why not experience something new?” The Inkling flashed a smile towards the Octoling, one that was attempting to be comforting! “If you don’t like it, I have a room with a lot of board games and books!”

Hey Straw!~ I’m glad to see you are excited about hosting a party. You seem to have done a great job of putting everything together,but what really seems great is the mini-stage you got there. Scuba grinned at his friend’s excitement I’m sure everyone will love what you have set up.

Straw giggled, leaning on one of the tables with food on them. She picked up a cup and pumped it in the air. “Thank you, Scuba! Glad to have your approval!”

She placed the cup back down, neatly pushing the handle so it lined up with the other cups, then pushed off the table, spinning into the center of the room. “I wonder if Octoglasses and Aloha would approve, as well!”

A flash of... something... appeared in her eyes, and her smile widened again. “Ooooh, what if I invited some of the new guys I’ve seen around? Not the usual party list, my own list!” She turned towards the outside, towards the view of the forest behind her house. “That’d be a twist...”

“Hey there!” Straw seemed to pop out from nowhere in front of the exploring Octoling, a smile on her face and a gleam in her eyes. “I’ve seen you wandering around sometimes, so I know you’re not new here... but I’ve never seen you at any parties before!” 

Straw’s voice grew giddy at the very word party. She grasped onto Brooke’s hand and rose it up so that it was almost touching Straw’s nose. “Would you like to come to my party? There’ll be a karaoke stage, lots of food, and, of course, a dance floor!” She looked up at Brooke. “Please?”

Arrow was having a fun day today. Not just because she just went through all of her clothes, cleaned them, and made sure they were all smelling fresh, no! That was just a bonus!

Today, she got her pair of ear muffs. 

She sat down in a chair and let her fingers rub over the cool metal beneath, watching the city from far away. While some noise still got through her ear muffs, most of the loud noises and overwhelming sounds were gone. She could finally enjoy just... watching.

.. Had she been staring at this squid for more than a few minutes? Oh, shoot, was the other squid trying to talk? Arrow felt sort of bad for ignoring the other squid, but not enough to lower the ear muffs she was enjoying wearing. She waved in the middle of the other squid’s sentence, and said, “Hello!”

“A... are you okay?”

Beanie felt absolutely awful. She had not been paying attention where she had been going, just focused on her texting her silly leader and laughing at his previous washing machine incident when she had bumped into someone right in front of her. There had been a cracking noise, and Beanie feared that the other person’s phone didn’t make it out alive.

“Are you hurt? Did you break something? Do you need help with anything? I’m so sorry!”

“Maaaaaaask...” Jersey’s voice seemed to whisper from the shadows of the plaza, right around the place where the team usually met up for... devious things. The inkling reached out from her place in the shadows, yellow eyes gleaming in the faint light around.

“Maaask... Hey, Mask... have you played Castle Soul yet?” There was a slight giggle to her words, one indiscernible to all but Team Cyan. It was clear that she had... devious things planned for Mask.
