I'm just really excited to have decided that I'm done after agonizing over this off and on for like a year. I get stuck like that sometimes! I think everyone does. The Invisible Rules, we all know them. Anyway personal celebration bonus, here's the original sketch:

So, basically, I had some kind of hunger mechanic switched on that drained your blood pool every so often (was this available in the UP+ patch? I don't remember and I've done a clean install since then whoopsie haha).
Anyway, I badly needed to feed after a boss fight, and then talk to Knox to complete a quest. But, when I entered the Asylum I just went straight up to him out of muscle memory or something — meanwhile poor Malkie is inching closer and closer to final death. So, unfortunately, I had to cut the conversation short. I felt a little rude lmao! Sorry, pal!

And here's where I say a few words about the looks just for funsies:
No fringe/bangs, showing forehead: Buzzcut. Not quite to the skin but she does occasionally shave her head all-the-way-bald on the days she just can't deal with all that bullshit. Plus, less drag underwater :p This could be anytime during the Modern Nights after she was, let's say rehabilitated, after death. It's a simple, classic look you can wear anywhere.
Twintails: Emmaline did originally wear her hair in (low) pigtails when I first started drawing her, but instead of her original outfit I've dressed her up like Devi D for Halloween. Would you be scared opening your door to this scene? She would say it doesn't count as a Masquerade violation on account of the holiday.
Sidetail: I mentioned it in the tags on the earlier post of this one but she is alive or mostly alive here. Around the time she was ghouled, she was pretty heavy into the whole Deathrock look. I think she would have gotten into putting together outfits as a relaxing hobby since she wouldn't have a lot of spare time with grad school and extracurriculars. Vampires get you just like the military does, by promising to pay for college.
Short/long: Or should it be long/short? Ha ha. She died with a flippy bob, can you believe it? Nevermind the huge gaping neck wound. A good amount of the time, she cuts her hair into this kinda rivethead pixie cut. Like maybe the same amount or a little less than teasing it up real big. She's definitely done it enough that it takes her like ten minutes tops to execute it cleanly. (Her elbow still doesn't look right to me but she was already a swimmer and then had Tzimisce limb lengthening surgery so even using references I have to extrapolate from incomplete data. That is a story I've been meaning to get down, actually. I should rewrite Arthur's Nose and call it Emmy's Limbs or something.)
Braids/plaits: I just drew this without thinking. I think this sketch was going to be the twintails panel originally, but I was picking colors as I doodled and accidentally Wendy'd her. So of course I had to make up a whole silly scene. She gets a lot of work done by Cynthia and they mess around a lot, she maybe gets treated a little like a dressup doll sometimes. But some people are just the dressing-up-their-friends type, which Cindy is. It would be fun to do a fleshcrafting version of this meme!
