Shout out to everyone who doesn’t think man-made pollution has a negative impact on the environment. That’s not fog, a thin cloud, or an overexposed area in my photo. That’s what the sky looked like the other day in Galveston on a really high ozone day. Ozone serves an important purpose for our planet, but it leaking into the lower parts of our atmosphere where we can breathe it is not that purpose. The hole in the ozone layer is just one of many examples of how humans have negatively impacted the environment. Be mindful of the impact you have in your community and on this planet, and think about how you can do better. It’s not even just about climate change, it’s about clean water to drink, clean air to breathe, and a healthy and functioning natural ecosystem. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk. I’m going to be taking a small break from positing my photography for the next few weeks in order to post something far more important: information on how to vote, where to vote, and what your rights are as a voter in Harris County. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you how important this election is, because you already know, but what I am finding is that there is a boatload of misinformation about voting out there. Voting is easy, it’s important, it’s even fun, and your vote ALWAYS matters at the federal, state, and local level. So, be on the lookout in the next few days for information on voting in Houston and Harris County. I even created a TikTok account for the express purpose of helping others vote, so follow me there at @ corydcampbell if that’s your preferred social media outlet. All that being said, yesterday was the first day of early voting in Texas, so guess what I did? I VOTED! Early voting is by far the best way to vote. Not only do you get to avoid the long lines on Election Day, but you have plenty of time to fit it into your schedule.
