The OP is a very sweet song. It's very Tomori.

We don't even get to talk about the weather, or exchange pleasantries, no, it's "hey what about Saki-chan (and the eventual Crychic reformation)" I want to believe Soyo is a kind girl genuinely concerned about a friend of hers, and that she's not solely hanging with Mutsumi around because she's the only tie to Saki and Crychic she can grasp at this moment (mainly because it seems Mutsumi doesn't seem like the type to resist).....but it does seem like she's squeezing the most out of that link.

This is the face of whose brain is actually whirring 8 billion mph and is trying to keep things cool. I do like that this is the last shot we see of Soyo's face in full for this conversation as the camera keeps cropping her face, keeping her face (and emotions) partially hidden as we dart through under the table-shots, side views, and back views.

("I'm probably normal" <- what kind of normal person lives in a house like this) I think its apt to mention to while the other members of Crychic seem well....i wouldn't say "comfortable" but experienced in being alone (Taki and Tomori especially). Our first true shot of Soyo alone is her up at night staring at Crychic's social media page. If you haven't caught up in that Crychic represents something irreplaceable in Soyo's life, this practically bashes you over the head with it.

I think its really interesting, especially we haven't seen yet what makes Soyo a "lost kid" yet. She's sociable and kind and poised (things Anon admires about her) so you'd expect that she'd have no problem finding another place to slide herself into? There has to be something about Crychic-about Saki-that she can't get anywhere else.

Which makes it a little surprising she'd be willing to pull some random girl (Anon) into her plans regarding its reformation-perhaps she's that desperate. My assumption is that she's trying to lure Saki out with this new band she's forming with Anon. Which will be Interesting considering Taki and Anon still don't get along lol.

The subplot with Tomori and the small Saki/Mutsumi conversation were interesting but what really gripped me was Rana's introduction. In comparsion to Anon and ex-Crychic, who are desperately trying to find a place where they belong, Rana seems wholly uninterested. Why be content with a single place when you can just Travel. She comes and goes like a whirlwind, leaving awe in her wake. What a gal. Will be interesting to see her intersect with the lives of the other characters.

Nobody Can Stop The Rain. (mygo episode #1 thoughts)

Introduction scenes are important, yeah? so let's talk about that cold open.

The blocking of this sequence is so interesting. Taki and Mutsumi are cooly on standby with their instruments, Waiting. The brunette (I'm sorry! I don't think this episode calls her by name so bear with me!) stares longingly at the window, obviously the most concerned for Saki's arrival. and Tomori...is sitting on the floor? Writing? Drawing? No one is speaking or doing much of anything.......how long has passed since the meeting time? Not like it matters. It's very interesting that only the brunette actually moves-to Saki's side-while the others seem almost.....frozen in place, even when Saki boldly proclaims she is quitting the band. Taki is only lit aflame by insults aganist Tomori and stands to protect her. Mutsumi remains kind of in her own world..?

The 3 minute sequences pretty much does what it needs to in highlighting what's what: The brunette is closest to Saki, probably not a full-scale "mediator" in the group but certainly someone who feels Strongly about both Saki and the band's existence that she'd slip into that kind of role. Tomori being placed onto the floor, making her seem a lot smaller than everyone else and their "Big" feelings feels intentional: maybe she was someone who joined this band for far less strong (but still important!) reasons than anyone else here. Taki was probably someone who followed Tomori's lead and thus has less attachment to the band beyond what it means to her. And Saki.....she started the band, so it probably has some great signifance to her, and either A) she's not quitting of her own volition, but the issue is something she feels like she cannot talk to her bandmates about (The brunette acts close to Saki, but maybe its a one-way thing), further highlighting the sort of. detachment I'm overall getting regarding this band's interpersonal dynamic or B) whatever what spurred her to make the band (a certain goal or drive) is here no longer.

Crychic is a sandcastle, and the rain is causing it crumble and become misshapen. Maybe it they bulit it with sticks or rocks, or put a tarp over it to shield it, it would last longer, but well. Nobody can stop the rain once it starts.

Then we meet Anon, and then what the show is trying to do thematically pretty much rears its head.

This show is called It's MY GO!!! like 迷子, a lost child, right? Bands are the new hotness, the main form of "fitting in", to the point where Miss "I want to be percieved as Cool and Likeable But Also Normal As Possible" is the one who starts the ball rolling on the idea of a new band. But for the members of Crychic, who have lost the place where they belong (or the place they wanted to be the place where they belong?), where will those lost kids go? Just where is the place where they belong?

That's about it for general analysis, now it's time for character chattin.

We can all shake hands and agree that Tomori is autistic, right? Like blatantly so. Down to the schoolmates who talk about her like a "cute animal" but don't really make moves to understand her and Anon calling her "the class mascot". Doesn't take a rocket scientist to get why an autistic girl who from the ending of the episode seems to have a complex about her not being taken seriously As She Is because she's #Weird to neurotypical might be looking for a place she belongs, hence the "keep the band going for the rest of our lives" bit. I do think its cute that in a story about lost kids, Tomori specifically has a fixation of collecting or "finding" random things. As someone who perceived herself to have caused Crychic's disbandment, I'm interested to her perspective on the fallout...... (though I have an idea)

I think its interesting that we're re-introduced to Taki while she is specifically Working. As in, performing a role she may not feel too strongly about, perhaps similar to Crychic? She boldly claims she doesn't like interacting with others-maybe she's someone who has discarded the search in finding That Place. But is that *really* the case, especially when she so quickly came to defend Tomori (albeit, very aggressively!) from a perceived harasser. Already showcasing the lone wolf's weak point so early is an interesting move, I feel like most things would wait before letting the shoe drop, you know? But I don't dislike it.

This girl talks so much (or maybe the others talk too little). But to be serious, she seems like the only member of Crychic who hasn't given up on it, whether it be for Saki's or her own sake. This character.....I feel her concern and kindness is legitimately genuine, but it kind of feels like she's also the type that's kind of like "If I was just kind enough, just gentle enough, things would be alright.....". Like attempting to be the glue that forces Crychic together once more. But you can't necessarily solve everything by being "kind", you know? I do think its pleasant that she can seemingly read Mutsumi's microexpressions or at least tries to.

Mutsumi is definitely the most mysterious character at this point, with how little she expresses herself. I find it interesting that depsite proclaiming that she's never once had fun in the band the brunette reacts as if Crychic being reunited is something Mutsumi wants as well (whether its simply projection or an earnest desire of Mutsumi's is yet to be seen.) "Going back to the way they were" impiles that her/both of their lives might've taken a dip somehow post-break, interesting..

We find Saki alone, playing. The only member of Crychic we have seen actively using their instrument since the breakup. So Saki still actively plays, but the thought of being in a band is still a "No". Am I crazy for interpretating this scene a certain way? That maybe Saki sees a little of herself from back then when she presumably first thought of up Crychic when Anon prompted her? That whatever she (or Anon) was searching for, it can't come to pass by just making a band? I have many thoughts on Saki's intents in dissolving the band but I'll let the show cook more on that before going further.

The ending was good btw.

going to try. avemygo. my bandori period was extremely brief (literally 2 weeks before prsk released and then i got brainworms for 5 years) and predominately roselia focused so like. apologies in advance if i miss things due to lack of #LoreKnowlesge. unlike my other stuff i'll be taking it slow because ive heard at least avemuji has a lot of blink and youll miss symbolism and the like.

the most astounding thing about Horse Game is that there's not really a single horsey that has the lolita styles i like for their racewear *shakes head* for shame......

like there are a few horseys that are kinda-sorta-maybe doing a little ouji/miltary-style lolita (calling it lolita is really. pushing it in my opinion though) and there is one that is kind of resembles classic maybe a bit. but gothic? bankrupt. (dont say rice shower. im gonna get you). sweet? oughhhhhh no.

but you might say "but nova! the game is about running, with that in mind surely the idea that someone's racewear being a lolita would be crazy and they'd opt for more sleeker idol-like styles"

badobarm's proper introduction is something ive been curious (and nervous) about for ages, for reasons that are obvious and for reasons that are not. allow me to metapost a little.

Every kingdom is a little different in terms of culture, architecture, and technology. Compare a place like Cogyumun's Kingdom to somewhere like Pochaco's kingdom. Characters show awe at when one of these aspects is rather robust but rarely do we get into the realm of comparsions or rankings. Which makes hearing "WOW THIS PLACE IS REALLY UNDERDEVELOPED" as one of the first things we hear upon entering the kingdom is quite something. (I do believe Kuromi's kingdom is in a similar state of having "room to grow", but the characters in Blue's arc were a little more kind about it).

But to tighten my thoughts, the most important to me is that this kingdom.....Was Abandoned! Someone (whether it be the entire community, or Badtz-maru's former Fragaria) did attempt to bulid this country up, but for whatever reason.....it simply Stopped, and was stopped for a while to the point where Pikero couldn't consider it to be a revitalization project in progress. And if they've made it a point to where Fragaria who aren't from their home nation are inevitably attracted to the nation of choice not just because of their Lord, but the community and culture to be found in said nation......Hm..........

I think across the entire ""canon"" (not just the VDs, but other stuff) something I ended up associating with Bado is how he believes in the potential within People (and within in his responsibilities as a Fragaria, a servant of his people, the ability to create a platform where that potential can be polished and shine!) I think it's an undeniable part of his charisma and what makes people so eager to follow him. So him encountering Badtz-maru Kingdom during his travels and seeing this kingdom that someone has given up, encountering the people there, and taking it upon himself to finish the job.......It really paints him as a dedicated and decisive person, doesn't it?

His little shock about being called a nickname....cute. Given That One 4-koma I imagine Bado lived with Hangyon and their Master for a very long time, so perhaps he's never made good friends with people around his age.....? (The people in Badtz Kingdom, of course, treat him as a Fragaria: while they may talk friendly, he's in position above them that obviously tints their relationship, see: ANIKIIIIIIIIIIII~) That's a fun way of making "getting along with everyone" fun with this kind of character, if I'm getting the correct vibe.

One might find it mysterious that despite recently gaining the boon of a dependable, strong knight, that SEEDs continue to plague this kingdom. After all, the current working theory is that the dependability of a kingdom's Fragaria reduces the overall sense of unease brewing, no? (Which is why kingdoms home to strong and capable knights like Ciel and Merold rarely if never experience SEEDs attacks, in addition to their disgustingly high magic capabilities, and why the formations of the Bouquets are important beyond having the strength of the knights together). But I feel the answer is quite simple: after ages, the kingdom is being re-organized, and being revitalized bit by bit......but in doing so, doesn't the fear of becoming abandoned once more blossom in the back of one's mind, no matter how capable the knight that stands before them, is? The bigger hope one has, the more frightening it is to lose it.........

This exchange feels........Suspect. Incredibly suspect. Hangyon has been singing Bado's praises all episode so this......subdued? reaction to Pikero's comment feels strange. I Legitmately Do Not Know What This Could Imply, given that the nature of magic is still quite heavily shrouded in mystery in this franchise. I like Bado's magic being impactful and unrestrained in contrast to Aru's floaty and ethereal (cuz its bubbles) kind of magic. I'm marking this down as something to look back on later, as well as re-checking if anyone's elses magic is described in a similar way......

Speaking of praises, I feel like Hangyon's delight here adds to my earlier idea and Bado and friends. He almost feels like a parent seeing an arranged playdate successfully work out. He's obviously invested in Bado's happiness given his history with him, but that sense of melancholy that tinted Badobarm's departure makes me curious to dig into their current relationship.....hm......

this is really funny but also really cool. It's a total role-reversal that the Other Accolade problem going on in Blue's storyline: Kurode has the favor of his Lord, but personally does not find himself capable enough to ask for the Accolade. Bado is super capable, and is favored by the community but as we've seen, he might not have the favor of his Lord, which is the most important thing......!

It really makes his inclusion in T2O A Lot More Obvious for those who weren't already picking up what the VDs were putting down. but also it begs the question. He's literally visited by one of the knights who have been serving their lords For A While, why hasn't Hangyon said anything........? It feels like a test of some kind, doesn't it? That guy's never straightforward.

I could talk more Bado (especially about how his desire for aknowledgement/recongition/desire to be king comes into play for this episode) but im tired looooooool. Bado is great and im interested to see where his character goes.
