NAWWWWRR Sphinx Simon has damn big belly. Does he can still move normally? when my cat had her litter (5) she barely got up the last month, her belly was big and she was exhausted. But this belly also looks difficult to carry, wow.

he can move in that. he is waddling. bumbling, even. and bumping into everything because he's not used to being so big/wide. and he's slow and awkward in pretty much everything he does. he's always been a little extra clumsy because he's got a big sphinx body, not a normal man body.

but since he doesn't have a set place to call home anymore (he's taken up room in an inn in a town temporarily) and he has to be out and about AND he has no whiskers to give him an idea of width he'll be knocking into things all the time. which is very embarassing for him

he's also having a rough time sitting and laying, he's long and not many surfaces are big enough for him to stretch out on, and he sort of is too fulla babies to really curl up. which leaves loafing, which makes him look absolutely ridiculous, cause it's like when you squish a ball. and he's very tired, achey and sore, so he rests a LOT, but even more than that he's trying to nourish 7 little god kittens on top of himself so he's absolutely fucking ravenous like, 24/7.

spicy wizardbetty simon is definitely sure it's not him being sick now. he's been chalking up the tummy to him gaining weight from laying in bed all day and having a big appetite but the last few growth spurts have left him looking very. distinctly looking like hes something else.

After days of fighting, Noxis exhaustingly pleas with GolBetty to reverse Simon’s aging.

simon is learning more about morri's abilities that they've gained since he's been gone. one in particular catches his attention.

morri's become disillusioned with their sleeping mother, suspecting either betty isn't there anymore or she doesn't care enough to be.

it breaks simon's heart to see them feel that way, and now that he knows there's a way to see GOLBetty he's sort of antsy to get to her, just to see her again- prove she does care about morrigan. he knows she does. but morri's not in the mood for it yet.

also, simon develops narcolepsy, with out of body experiences while he's asleep.

As Noxis got older, so did Espresso. Unlike MushroomNoodle’s Simon, Depresso Espresso aged like milk.

He’d have days of misremembering names, to forgetting his own favorite foods or hobbies. His joints ache, he is prone to getting cold, and require to use a cane to help him walk. His eyesight is terrible, and spent more days sick in bed than up and about.

Noxis gave him a pendant that lets her see what he is up to whenever she is away and visits Simon often, very worried of his declining health and impacted by the dread of losing him.

Noxis couldn’t take it after Simon had a bad fall and damaged his hip and shattered his left ankle. So she devised a plan to tuck him away into a living cage she had created to preserve and hoard her things. Of course she had to explain Simon’s absence by telling folks that Simon passed away in his sleep. With little time, she made preparations and left Ooo with Simon, leaving everyone in the dark on what truly happened to Simon for centuries.

sphinx simon stages.

extremely fast hair growth, fur first comes in brown and then lightens to purplish and white shades, gaining a leopard pattern. feet turn into paws, bone structure of legs change

middle stage, he uses a stick because he cant keep himself upright with his changing body. he is still normal human sized but he is steadily getting a longer torso and animal instincts are heightened, much more graceful on all fours and covered in fur.

late stage he's grown exponentially longer and thicker (muscular) and while he has the muscles to hold himself up he can't sheathe his claws and is too strong for his own good.

he's also nervous because he has extremely strong predator instincts and he's acted on them multiple times, at first it was out of necessity (more food for marceline) but then he started hunting bigger creatures, it's the snow leopard in him. he is afraid he'll start seeing marceline as a prey animal, since she is about their size.

morri instantly hugs their dad. and cries. for a very long time. simon is very confused and disoriented- i mean he was just dead for a hot minute, his body feels like steel wool, but he knows that's his baby, even if they're different he can tell that's his little guy.

the last time simon saw morri they were a pre-pubescent 13 year old physically so it's quite a jump to see them again, but he's so happy to.

morri gets him some clothes, and he finally gets to apologize for dying on them like he did. he wasn't sure if he only had a few hours at first, so he felt it was important morri knew he loved them and cared about them- give them some kind of closure.

morri just wants to focus on their dad and how he's back again- no worrying about anything else. there's a lot he's missed and they're so overwhelmed to see him again- to feel his hands, to smell him (even if he smells different), to watch him move around and exist.. it's so comforting for them, and they just want to be his kid again for a bit before everything changes again.

simon is absolutely DYING to know the details- is he alive for good or is this temporary? how did morrigan do it? what's going on with everyone, are they all doing well?

he's glad to be able to be with morrigan again (and see them almost grown up! they look so much like their mother, he's so proud of them) but he worries about the short and long term effects of whatever they did.

and then they accidentally drop he's been essentially transported nearly 1000 years into the future. again.

Noxis traveled through her portals from time to time when she is not building an undead army in her messed up dimension to combat intruders. Why? To find the one who gave her life. Golb, the one her father always told to her before bed when they were once a human woman name Betty. For what reason? She felt like she wanted to show her accomplishments of her existence, as she feels like all her life, her goal was to “Keep Simon safe”. Perhaps she was hoping for praises, maybe a new purpose as she accomplished what she perseveres as keeping her father from harm, maybe even deep down she wants to bond with Golb and have both parental figures in her life.

After centuries of searching, she finds a strange void filled with green oddly shaped cubes, worth to just step in to peak, right?

over a whole year of studying and he still has nothin

i like to think sphinx simon was more initially accepting/affectionate of his babies in part because sphinx simon is even lonlier than vanilla simon due to his sphinx status.

he didn't set up a life in the human city because the main reactions to his existence were either "omg cat" or "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA", and he wasn't in place among creature wizards either because he had no magic. he ended up settling by marceline's place at her request, and instead tried to push his history stuff with a stand in the human city (it was not good for his self esteem).

plus, he had more of a negative reputation due to his time as ice sphinx being more monstrous, and he absolutely felt that guilt. i can also see GOLBetty's kits gift as more of a way to give him company on top of it being of love, maybe it's why he's having so gd many.

also cat hormones. that too. i guess what my main thought is sphinx simon is just really happy to be a dad and be protecting his and betty's babies. he is simply having a good time (minus the being pursued by PB part), lots of purring and snuggling in makeshift nests on his travels and talking to his babies, because it feels like he's not going to be alone anymore. also sort of like he's turning over a new leaf? his kits aren't gonna know him as ice sphinx or "that sad old cat guy", he's going to be dad to them, even if they're spooky little god kids.

no special pillow! he just shoved his other bed pillow between his legs and dragged one of his couch cushions in bed to prop against his back. he tried to sleep on his side because he knew you weren't supposed to sleep on your back while pregnant, even though that's what his body wanted to do so bad.
