Hey ever notice how . . . deliberate the melting scene is in the 1939 movie?

I mean, think about it. Who was the one leading the charge the entire time? The Scarecrow. Who seemed to know exactly where to go? The Scarecrow. And who led them into a corner where there just happened to be a convenient bucket of water, the one thing that supposedly can kill the Wicked Witch?

The Scarecrow.

And who oh-so-conveniently put out their arm for Elphaba to light on fire and then position himself just right so that when Dorothy put out the fire, she would also splash the Witch?

The Scarecrow.

You cannot convince me this whole thing wasn't planned from start to finish. It makes too much sense! Albeit I'm sure Fiyero had severe reservations about this whole damn thing.

But hey, it worked pretty perfectly.

raven and cerise both have the vibes of a predator that's been raised to think they're prey and it must have been so funny for maddie to first realize that. maddie's sudden loud appearance spooks them and both of her new friends are scrambling for a dark spot to hide themselves in. cue to a montage of kid maddie trying to befriend them like one of those cute tiktoks of someone trying to domesticate a bunch of feral kittens who never had human contact before. raven and cerise are in their most extreme angsty kid/tween phase meanwhile maddie is living an entirely different genre thinking she's chris pratt taming velociraptors in the form of her two extremely introverted friends
