i was imagining a scenario wherein Eric's mask of anger slips while they're doing the preparations for NBK. for a moment, there was no anger or hatred in his face, just solemn acceptance, this is how they'll end, and that reality was crashing down on Eric. Dylan noticed it, maybe he wanted to ask if he was okay. but no, their relationship isn't like that. it was never open, or vulnerable, due to toxic masculinity and stuff
and maybe, if at any point they decided to earnestly talk about their feelings, problems, emotions.. not just feeding into and enabling each other's anger and hatred, maybe everything could've happened differently
