My definition of a sculpture is to capture an idea whether it be conceptual or not. This idea is conveyed then through means of manipulating a non organic or organic object. One has to carefully consider the two dimensional and three dimensional aspects of the object and how they interact with the space the object is occupying.

I would enjoy recreating Marguerite’s work. She taps into so many aspects of humankind through her work. Her diligent scientifical research and fictional reality that she combines work very well together. I also love the fact that her installations use sensory experiences to provide a more profound connection with the viewer.

Guillaume Bijl’s work consists of appropriating every day items and rearranging them to become more than a typical object. He raises the philosophical question of what is art. Bijl places unexpected realities and places them in exhibitions highlighting the notion of using art as a tool to critique reality.

To the untrained mind most of John Gibbons work seem like very industrial abstractions, but theres more to it than meets the eye. John’s work reflects his condition. He tackles social events and conveys a message through his sculptures. On some occasions his pieces correlate with places or with certain concepts he's been contemplating.

Sook Jin Jo’s work consists of found wooden objects that she manipulates and constructs into beautiful works of art. Most of her wooden materials were once items or rather furniture that someone had owned. She makes an appropriation of these materials and gives them conceptual meaning. A life before and after manipulation is her main focus and intentionally gives her work a spiritual aspect.
