Everyone is looking for opportunities to make money easily, but many of these people do not know how, they do not where to look. There are lots of opportunities (albeit, some of these opportunities may seem hidden, or generally unknown) out there for people to grab and milk, but how does one get ahold of them?

Many call these avenues to make money “secrets,” but isn’t a secret something that is hidden and not spoken of? 1. Blogging: For decades, this has been a money-making avenue for people worldwide, and Nigerians are not left out. The likes of Linda Ikeji and other top blogging websites have reaped the benefits of staying true to their crafts, and these benefits come in the form of money, lots of it.

Blogging is basically writing about things that interests you, and if you care enough to make money, things that interest people, too. So, you are sharing information that you feel is necessary for others to want to pay attention to what it is that you are saying. You could blog about anything that catches your fancy: politics, babies and births, women hygiene, food and their recipes; anything at all that you know is within your niche (that is, something that is within your range of understanding), and those within your niche, interested in the same subject will be pulled to your website.

Once your blog’s engine is chugging, and you have the needed traffic (that is, the number of people that visit your blog to read your articles or watch your videos, or whatever it is you choose to put up), you could start to monetize your blog by signing up for Google AdSense or Affiliate links.

One interesting thing about blogging is the fact that, with consistency and grit, you would see the benefits, even while you are busy doing nothing, the cash would flow; and this is not to say that the cash flowing in would become automatic, as mentioned above, you would need consistency and some fortitude.

2. YouTube: Yes, this is another way to earn money, by starting a YouTube channel. You do not think that is possible? Well I am here to tell you that it is possible for you to make money from making videos on YouTube. There are lots of examples of this, but let us pick a very significant and mouth-watering story of PewDiePie, funny name, huh? But that funny name is one that resounds across the YouTube platform. He, Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, owner of the channel, is a Swedish YouTuber who made up to 12 million dollars in 2015 alone, from doing what? Posting videos on YouTube. He posts commentaries, comedic videos, vlogs etc.

Making money on YouTube is one of the easiest online money-making avenues, although, it doesn’t come pouring in as fast as you’d hope for it to. Just like with Blogging, it takes time, patience and consistency for you to be able to make the money that you want, and there is no startup funding required. Now, making money through this channel can be quite tricky, but once you have acquainted yourself with the ways of YouTube, then you will be able to understand the quirks that come with it. See, having hundreds of thousands of subscribers (sometimes even millions) does not guarantee your success on their (although, this is one huge part of it), but how much engagement do you get from those that follow you, how much content do you put out there for them to engage with? These are things that you would need to consider.

There are lots of things you can do if you want to start your own YouTube channel. You could:

Vlog: This is just your own reality web show where you do the filming, or you have someone do it for you. You become the Kardashians, only on the web platform. There are lots of people who do this, even dogs have their own YouTube channels with their subscribers ranging in the hundreds of thousands, people put up videos about their families, their partners, fitness videos, motivational videos and what have you.

Comedy: By now, you probably already are familiar with the topes of comedy skits that are churning out daily on the platform, the very popular Mark Angel comedy skits, that, by the way, has seen the little girl not-so-little-anymore, Emmanuela get a contract with Disney to star in one of their movies. There are many channels on YouTube dedicated to these skits that tickle us to sometimes subscribing to their channels and always going back for more interesting contents.

Product Reviews: This is another thing you could base your channel on, that is, if you are good at giving reviews of things, it could be a cosmetic product you used that worked or did not satisfy your beauty desire, or it could be a movie, or a book, anything that is worth a review (but keep in mind, anything that is interesting enough to capture the interests of the people that will be watching).
