huge evidence that supernatural exists external to the constraints of the physical writing and production of a television show, that a truer version of itself exists in a place we cannot see, is that in the ghostfacers episode dean and sam curse. we know they curse “in reality” while in the actual (mediated) show they use curse adjacents friggin and crap. so we know what is “canon” that they do not curse in canon, while knowing they Are Cursing beneath that. there are things the show does not show cannot show and shows altered by what is and isnt “allowed”

all hell breaks loose part 1 is the death of all time. where are humans meant to die if not on our knees, in the mud, being rocked to eternal sleep by the person we love most, the rain washing away our blood.

sam says in ahbl pt 2 that he doesn't remember much besides Dean running towards him and the pain of the knife severing his spinal chord, but I bet he felt safe, right there at the end. He knew Dean was there, taking care of him. It was a quick death. He wasn't afraid. He was just with Dean, and then he wasn't.

None of his other deaths were just a quick calm fade out. They were all sudden, or terrible, or extremely painful, or with high consequence. This time, he just went to sleep for one final time in the same way he did his entire early childhood. We should all be so lucky.
