Today marked the beginning of my 5th week post open heart surgery. I had an office visit with my surgeons assistant, and I want to share some good news.
I can start back to spin class again but was cautioned to ramp up slowly and keep my HR under 135 bpm. I can also hike and drive again!
I will avoid riding on the road for another 3 or 4 more weeks, but then I will begin to ramp up my miles gradually.
Two weeks ago, I figured there was no way I could get to this point this quicky... but it appears that I was wrong!
