My heart broke because of the concern shown by Titus for Lexa, so I had to do something about it. It didn’t help when I realized that almost all the important figures in Lexa’s life died.

so Paradise California is gone

i haven’t seen any noise about this on tumblr yet, but a fire has completely wiped out a small town in california.

they’re calling it the camp fire. over 20,000 residents have been evacuated so far, the last area estimates i heard were over an hour ago at 18,000 acres and its still zero percent contained.

this is the smoke from about 18 miles away from the fire three hours ago. if you know anyone near chico, paradise, oroville or durham california you might want to check they’re okay

Do happy endings exist? And if we got one, would we recognize it? Not everyone gets the fairytale, not everyone deserves the fairytale. Circumstances beyond our control can shape our ending but how we live and how happy we make it, is up to us.

If Love’s So Easy, Why is it Hard? follows the relationship of Clarke and Lexa from their first, unpredictable meeting to their last breath. The main crux of the story revolves around “the event” which tests the family of two moms and four kids in ways they never thought imaginable. The true heart of the story lies in the relationships between the family members. The love between Clarke and Lexa is explored in breathtaking detail throughout their lives, even when their love is challenged time and time again. While this love is the catalyst for the story, it is the relationships between the mothers and their children that drive it. There is an impeccable balance of fluff and angst throughout. Which is highlighted not only by the jumps in time between the chapters but also in the relationships. The bond between Lexa and Jake (her son) serves the reader moments of happiness while the strain between Lexa and Costia (her daughter) rips at the reader’s heart. The painstaking details that emanate from the author’s prose urge you to become a part of the Griffin-Woods household and immerse yourself in their love and pain. Oh and is there pain. “The Event”, which tears the family apart, explores the many ways in which people handle grief and loss. Each character reacts in a variety of ways that realistically reflects their age, background, and place within the family. While some find it easier to forgive and heal, others carry the blame, guilt, and anger for a lifetime.

I have read many stories in my life. From novels to fanfics. From Pulitzer Prize winners to one-shots. But few have haunted me as much as this story. I carry the weight of each chapter with me for days. I am not an emotional person. I have been told I have an “off” switch when it comes to feelings. But this story has left me in tears. Chapter 32 was especially heartbreaking and tore me up. I usually binge these fics as much as possible but I had to take a 3 day break after Chapter 32. I do not want to give anything away, but in this chapter the effects of Alzheimer’s on a family are explained in heart wrenching detail. The reader will feel every emotion and every tear that is shed as the family must watch someone they love slowly forget them. My heart still clenches when I remember the scene in which the line “you will see him soon” is uttered. I have never felt so close to fictional characters before as I do with this family. I am invested in their successes and failures, in their love and loss, and in their lives and death. I do not want this to end because I will feel as if I too will have loss something.

I wavered between waiting for this story to conclude to post this or not. In the end, I decided to post because I feel this is a journey that we all should take - together. Like I have said many times, I enjoy binging fics and tv shows. But every so often, there comes a story which is so beautiful, so full of life, and so heartbreaking that time in between is necessary to fully process the immensity of emotions and to savior the details. This is one of those stories. So I implore you to begin this journey now so we can experience it together.

Like the queen gives birth and oops it’s this adorable little scaley lizard with tiny wings that she can never quite seem to fold right

None of the King’s advisors or doctors can explain it, no one can remember anyone who might have cursed the royal family, plus sire she’s clearly yours still I mean look at those eyes

They just kind of accept it and keep her in a tower so no one tries to slay her

The queen or castle servants reading bedtime stories to the toddler princess, who’s made a nest of her favorite toys and some jewelery she stole off her mother, and when she laughs little puffs of smoke come out of her mouth

The king being so proud when she flies across the room for the first time

And once the princess comes of age, confused knights breaking into the tower to find a twenty foot long dragon sitting at the vanity getting her horns polished by her handmaidens
