It gets worse. There are only a couple buses a day between cities, and the roads suck ass. On journeys deeper inland you basically NEED a pokemon, because most of the roads are gravel, or are not. There is just not a road sometimes.

There is only one commercial trainline, that was finished two years ago, four stops are unavaliable most of the year because it goes through Snowpoint. There is the ferry, but it only goes to the nearest point in the greater Kanto area (taking around four hours to get back and forth), and it only shows up twice a month.
